I didn't submit my HT on result to the 4.5GHz club yet... It's only at 4.6GHz right now:
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...=1#post4960038

I was about 98% stable at 4.693Ghz and pushing ~90GFlops. I could do 16 loops before it would error. My goal for the weekend is a full 4.7GHz with >90GFlops
    Thanks man, likewise!

I'll be waiting for your new results, as we need more competitive spirit and OC'ing fun here. Just remember I have GB X58A-OC now, and it might give me slight advantage. (I hope )

I can't remember or find where did I post these, but here here are the screenshots:

    Got you by 80MHz

    or by 2 GFLOPS

I think that 200x23 result is the most impressive I've seen from ANYONE yet!!!
    2000MHz 6-9-6-24 1T with 4000MHz uncore!!!

I wonder if 2166MHz 9-10-9-27 1T with 4000MHz uncore will be able to compete?

Now I have something to shoot for.

donmarkoni, those volts are impressive (39 V)

zoson, I got the R3B because the R3E IOH was generally cooking and from what I read it's a really common problem with that board. If it was pressed by finger, temps dropped by 30 degrees C..and if I swapped the TIM, I'd be out of warranty . Well now my R3B IOH runs at 40 degrees, on R3E I had 95 C in BIOS after boot.

I also have a problem now that LinX x64 doesn't stress my CPU at all, but IBT works just fine (other reports in the LinX thread as well). I just gave quick 6 loops of IBT at 4515 MHz HT on at 1.38 V BIOS, 1.4 V reported by CPU-Z, let's see if 20 runs is possible under 1.4.

i was having the same problem with my previous 980X, finally solved with 990X.

It has to be a software problem, since IBT works. It stopped working when I swapped the mighty P6T6 WS to R3E.

Changing the TIM does not void your asus warranty. I have replaced the tim on a R3E, watercooled it, had the onboard sound and NIC die, put the stock cooler back on with new tim, and asus accepted it as an RMA no problems.

Have you both tried booting into Diagnostic Mode?
Start -> Run -> msconfig -> click the diagnostic mode button and restart.

Could be, but in Finland we always take bad parts to the store who checks it, and from there it goes to the importer who also checks it, and from there it goes to ASUS, unless the store is willing to give you a new one straight away. I don't know any easy channel to contact ASUS here unless you are a reseller yourself. And sometimes the store already checks if you've swapped the TIM, and you're out of warranty. I'm just going to sell my R3E once I get it back.

It is very simple to contact ASUS, xarot.
    Go to: http://vip.asus.com
Create an account, register your serial, and you can submit RMA directly to them.
Or, you can do Advanced RMA (R3E qualifies) here:
    http://support.asus.com/repair.aspx?no=581&SLanguage=en

4.7ghz ht on appears out of my reach, even with this cpu. I'm running through a loop unoptimized at 4665MHz now don. First time in this territory for me... Memory's up to 2176mhz. 9-10-9-27-1T still. Getting about 88GFlops with 3.6GHz uncore. After I do 20 loops at this speed, I'll start working on the uncore.

Looking good. But be very careful, my dead 990X probably got damaged last winter while I was trying for 5GHz LinX stable. Those speed and voltages are still safe IMO, but still be careful.

^Couple of higher than I'd recommend vcore excursions then later it just died at lower vcore.

Just doing some 12GB testing. Ive been doing a lot of CAD design and renders recently and found I could max out 6GB pretty easily. 6GB is usually OK for the Photoshop work I do but this is more involving.

Seems to be hard on the vdimm PWM, and at this level is only marginally harder on the IMC than 6GB. Vdimm had to be increased from 1.56v to 1.60v in BIOS, and Vtt is up a couple of notches frome the 6GB setting but it may be able to go down I'm yet to test. See below for a 30 minute (so far) custom 10GB prime 95 large FFT run. This slams the ram and IMC like nothing else, the sticks are hot to the touch (now under a fan to keep the temp in check, was ambient cooled before as 6GB runs pretty cool).

    30 mins 10GB Custom Prime95 | 12GB (6x2GB) Corsair Dominator 1866 C7 | DDR3-1600MHz | 6-6-6-18 1T | 1.60 vdimm | 3600MHz uncore | 1.250 Vtt

    update:

Sigh... I tried VERY hard, but I couldn't beat your GFlops, don. That memory is just too nice!!! I got very close GFlops wise, but I had to increase clockspeed... I was able to do a few loops at 92GFlops, but couldn't finish a run... Maybe on a colder day.

    I feel left out..

    4.5GHz 136x33 1.36875v Bios (1.316v load)

Was hitting 1.316v but CPU-Z didn't capture it..

    1638MHz 6-6-6-18-1T-48 1.643v Bios

Needed one more bump in QPI. Waiting to run this chip on the OC before submitting to 4.5GHz Club

P.S. Sick overclocks there Don my next milestone is reaching 100GFlops!

Hmm I was pulling ~86 gflops too at 4.5GHz for the run I did for the 4.5 LinX club, but it wasn't optimized for power, just focused on the 4.5GHz. You guys are making me want to try for more. You're all bad influences!

I don't see why my 4610 run would be lower GFlops than yours MrTooShort... My memory is lower timings and the same speed? Everything else was the same speed, too...

I'm booting into diagnostic mode and have my paging file disabled... What am I missing that's allowing everyone to get +2 GFlops on me at 4.6?

    Here's my equivalent run: ~90.5GFlops 4610MHz CPU, 4000MHz Uncore, 2000MHz 7-9-7-24-1T Memory

Well, I don't expect you to give up so quick. Cold will help. I'm waiting for some colder days to do some runs too.

Hehe... CryptiK has been awaken! Almost. All those Hypers you have could use some leg stretching.

    Very nice run!

I haven't given up yet. We both have to beat MrTOOSHORT's 92GFlops now! I need to figure out why you guys are able to get higher GFlops at the same speed. It is a mystery to me how MrTOOSHORT's run is higher GFlops than either of us. I even had C-States enabled.

Cryptik, join the fun!!! I want to see your results also.

I am worried about Uncore degradation, unfortunately. I need 1.475v QPI to hit 4000MHz Uncore. It didn't seem to damage my CPU at all this weekend, though. I put maybe 20 hours of benching on it at that voltage this weekend with a coolant temp between 22-31C.

Here's my rig, by the way:

All 3 rads are internal, and under normal operation it's completely silent(4.4ghz cpu, 3.6ghz uncore, 18gb 1834mhz memory, sub 24dB). I stack those extra fans on when benching and power them with that PSU sitting out on the side.

Haha Don, yeah Ive been quiet here, been focused on my other hobby I am in the midst of testing my new 12GB setup since I'm using more ram intensive apps these days and it looks like Ive had some success.

Zoson I'm keen to try but would have to pull 6GB, stupid LinX cant handle it and runs ~10GFOPS slower with 12GB than with 6GB. Might do so once I have fully dialed in my 12GB setup. Nice rig too, looks ghetto tough

Damn it takes ages to test 12GB of ram, and it's harder on the CPU too, needed to bump vcore to remain stable when using LinX with 12GB. I chose 10.2GB as I still wanted a little left so I could browse the net as you can see by the drops to 59GFLOPS. With a fan over the modules they are barely warm to the touch, but without active cooling they are so hot you can't leave you finger on them for more than a couple of seconds - for 12GB active cooling is a must.

I think I'm going to call this stable-ish until I get more time to test it more intensively.

Hahahaha, yeah it's super ghetto when I go for high OC's. Since it's all internal and my rads only have low speed fans on them(I like my rig nice and quiet for normal use), I have to put the high speed fans on the case to help move air around. They're literally just sitting up there and I take them off when I'm done OCing... Normally the side panel is on and the door is closed. I actually don't have a good pic of it, so I guess I'll take one tonight for ya.

If you dial back to 9216MB, it will run full GFlops. It will be even harder on your cpu than 10200!!! It will also take a lot shorter period of time for running loops, since you'll be going at full speed. You will also probably have to increase both vCore and QPI again. Normally I run 18GB ram, and I pull 12GB to drop down to 6 for heavy OCing action.

9216 MB is the magic number huh. I'll give it a go!

9.1GB works well, no voltage increases needed anywhere, and pulling some nice GFLOPS The 77.xx's are due to me doing things, I was working at the same time, when i leave it alone the GFLOPS are very consistent on my system with 12GB installed.

    78.3962 GFLOPS at 4005MHz | DDR3-1868MHz 7-8-7-20 1T | 3600MHz uncore
