It is really relevant... since there are still plenty of tasks that don't even run on 4 core so in 8....

If BD is like 5% faster in multi-thread vs 2600k but loses 5% in single thread. That mean he will lose till 4 threads and that is just like 90% of the stuff the average joe does.
