    The CPU has so many memory control pins, that they had to split them on the two sides of the CPU package to improve the speeds and reduce interference problems. It was inevitable for quad-channel memory.
    Also the memory speed supported is 2600Mhz so a nice improvement here too.

    14 SATA ports are nice, also floppy and IDE are gone for good.
