My assumption is that AMDs license is different to intel one, and theres no point in nf200 being there.
So as for 4 card who knows, quad, absolutely not ,and theres still one dual gpu plus two single gpu configuration.
However as i havent seen any 990FX mobo with the nf200 chip, but being plastered with SLI logo, its quite logical to assume nf200 is out of the equation.
If someone from any mainboard manufacturer reads this, please clarify
