As usual Gigabyte placed the 16x slots quite close together on the UD5 but didn't on the UD7. WTF Gigabyte, but at least this one has 5 PCI-E slots instead of 4 on previous boards.

Gigabyte wouldn't be making a board like this for BD if it weren't at least in the same ballpark as Sandy...

I agree, you could spend $50 or whatever on a usb 3 hub after buying the $300 motherboard.

but if I can, I will choose to get a motherboard with enough usb3 ports. I don't want to start off with a handicap.

This board has four, but you are still complaining.

I find it hilarious that MB manufacturers are all claiming that their new boards are 4-way SLI/crossfire motherboards. Too bad that only applies to having two crappy Dual GPU cards.
GPU: 4-Way SLI GTX Titan's (1202 MHz Core / 3724 MHz Mem) with EK water blocks and back-plates
CPU: 3960X - 5.2 GHz with Koolance 380i water block
MB: ASUS Rampage IV Extreme with EK full board water block
RAM: 16 GB 2400 MHz Team Group with Bitspower water blocks
DISPLAY: 3x 120Hz Portrait Perfect Motion Clarity 2D Lightboost Surround
SOUND: Asus Xonar Essence -One- USB DAC/AMP
    PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX1500
    SSD: Raid 0 - Samsung 840 Pro's
