i think so they can use the touch BIOS, idk nothing other than that for the UD7.

The UD3H has PWM controll, which controls the PWm frequency, but its maxed out already on the UD7.

Ok cheers thanks for the info. I'll just stick with F4.

By the way Sin, have you heard anything from Gigabyte regarding the Turbo Boost problem? (Not ramping up when only using 1 thread?)

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I also got a nice new 24/7 stable overclock as well using Dynamic VID which i've never tried before.

    1.335v under normal usage
    1.272 when under full load
    0.996v while at Idle.

    Full Load:

    Idle:

So far so good, but time will tell i suppose

I'm going to try dvid just for fun on my pretty heavily degraded 2600k simply because I can and it's free. Besides I just bought 3 more tubes of MX4 (freaking mwave said they had the 20 gram one there for $17 but it wasn't there when I went, so I bought three 4 grams for $18 and she waived the $5 will call charge since I was a walk-in anyway), plus I was able to reverse "part" of the degradation on my better 2600k at 5 ghz by raising PLL voltage to 1.86v (no more idle BSOD in Bad company 2 at 1.410v bios LLC2 1.428v idle). So I need something new to do....

    Nice clean low voltage 24/7
you get exact same droop i do when processor hit load 0.050 droop , is this on llc1 also correct

I get 1.260v under full load on my 2600k at 4.5 ghz. I agree that's a good vcore.. 1.335v is high for idle, though, with LLC1 without offsets I get 1.284v idle. You should be able to get an idle lower than 1.335 easily...try using LLC1 (LLC enabled if its only disabled or enabled). That should significantly lower your idle voltage with dvid.

After going away I returned and gave another go at my OC. I have come to the conclusion that the CPU has degraded. I was able to do X52 @ 1.50 but now just to get in to Windows with x50 I need in excess of 1.55+.

At first I was thinking it was the motherboard or BIOS and I'm still contemplating this as I was able to do x52 with no problems on an ASUS board before switching to the UD7. If I had another mobo on hand I would give the chip a shot in that but I don't so RMA to Intel.

Time to go back to ol'reliable X58 until I get another chip.

Don't know for sure but I've heard asus board need lesss vcore than the UD7 for the same clocks . . So your chip might totaly be fine

I have heard that as well and in this case I surely did see but for the drastic difference in vcore needed between the two I'm leaning more towards the chip.

We'll have to see when I get another chip. If I had another board accessible I would see how the chip performs but unfortunately I don't at this time.
