Yeah, my pre-release board died a few weeks ago. Not sure why![]()
that's bad karma wiping out a board dude![]()
Uh-oh, giga police on my tail
I actually don't know how she died, I only benched the hell out of her day in and day out.She was surely a boint machine while she lasted.

I have had my share of unexplained deaths with Gig though all there boards totally cranked. Real nice 01 score there Dinos22, POWA.![]()
Guys & Galls I've just given up playing with the Z68X.... It benches exactly the same as my 67 but I fffffin hate the 10 level load line level 6 droops loads level 7 overshoots loads. It needs loads more vcore than my 67 (+ .060) to be LinX stable @ 5GHz & when you get it LinX stable & reboot it'll fail & 101 instantly!!!! I give up no need to waste any more time with it seeing as my 67 runs exactly the same. I just hope the 67 keeps going.

referrng to B3 of course as B2 LLC2 is bugged; the old LLC1 can be improved (excessive vdroop at higher voltages), but the old LLC2 is fine (0.015v higher than what you set in bios at idle, and 0.030v at load (0.015 higher than idle), and seems to keep this over all voltages, which LLC1 doesn't do (the old LLC1 has much higher vdroop at higher voltages than at lower voltages). One of the loadlines in multi step should be identical to the old LLC2. Someone should ask GB to add it back.
And yeah LLC6 is better than the old LLC1 at lower voltages but droops alot at higher voltages, and LLC7 keeps max load the same as the bios voltage but spikes a LOT at light/idle....it seems to act like the "old" LLC2 suddenly kicks in at light load, except normally you would have the bios voltage set lower and have a steady predictable voltage (as I explained above) instead of spikes at light load....
I'm not overly fussed GB can't control there 10 million amp VRM..... they never been any good at tight voltages but ffs old 67 B2 board rock solid 1.355v bios + level 1 just makes 70oC in LinX for 5GHz new 68 board 1.41 + LEVEL 8 = 80oC+ FOR 5GHz...... something v wrong there!!!!
68 is back in the box..... if it cant at least match the 67 it aint no good.

Has anyone been able to set the multi over x51 on the UD5? if so whats the secret, I've tried up to 54 and nothing seems to work over x51 voltage don't seem to effect the boot no matter what I set it at it reverts back to 51![]()

What's the max mhz (or multiplier) you can use with pll overvoltage disabled?
You can usually only go a few above that with pll overvoltage enabled.
usually +5 higher on the multiplier.
Ill have to check and get back with you on that I'm thinking that's with PLL enabled but I'm not 100% sure, to early in the morning to think but I was messing around while it was still semi cool outside and not in the 90s , ATM I'm moving files to another drive so it might be a awhile. so far I'm able to hit 5305ghz / x51-104.3 fsb
*Edit* was able to get x53 but vcore was getting high 1.50+ but wasn't stable and Ram was limited at the higher end vcore didn't want to boot 103.fsb , PLL was enabled LLC1 tried LLC2 but it didn't like it (bios f3g) I guess I need to read up a little more to understand Intel was hoping to get 5.5ghz for a quick Linx/ CPuz any suggestions are welcomed. http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1831622

Hey guys, its me again. I just wanted to update you since last time. I have had ZERO boot up issues since i replaced my memories from a few weeks ago. Been pushing lately and have come up with 4925mhz for 24/7 with 2145mhz memeories. If i go more it wants ~1.47v under load and hits 88 degrees in Prime95 which is too much for my air cooler. Thanks again for the help in figuring this annoying cold boot mystery.![]()

Hey guys. Where did you all go since last few months ? My Giga is still kicking hard on the F3G JZ bios no problem at all. Any new BIOSes out there worth trying ? I guess my only issue is my reset button, but i hardly use it. I've since replaced my memories to 8GB 1866mhz 2x4gb, still in the process of selling my 2133mhz CL7s. Maybe admin should merge the thread with the other gigabyte threads ?

I'm still here lurking about with my B2 board, guess everyone’s gone quiet as they've moved on or haven’t tweaked anything for 6 month!!
I'm also still running the F3G bios & my rig is still quite happy rocking away 5GHz daily 1 year on with zero issues.

I'm using F7. Besides the 22nm IB support, which will require an updated bios anyway, I was getting some strange issues with F3g, where the board would refuse to POST sometimes after a hard power down (would just power up for 10 seconds then power off). I was also seeing some strange things happening, like Windows 7 freezing after I choose "reboot", and then either powering off and on again, or just frozen at the shutdown or black screen. I noticed that bioses after f3g raised the default DDR voltage to 1.52v, so I did that and the problems went away. I then went to F7, zero problems with it besides the LLC being a bit erratic at times. Then I went to 16 GB of RAM (4x4 GB) and zero problems with F7, no boot loops, no cold boot bugs, nothing at all. I do seem to have coil whine coming from apparently the 6970...doesnt *seem* to becoming from the new seasonic 1000w psu at all (at least it doesnt get any more audible if I put my ear next to it, but who knows?), and the directions "seem" to point to the videocard. Probably harmonic resonance between the card and the PSU, since it didn't happen before I swapped psu's. Maybe I'll remove the card and try to turn on the PC without the card to see if that's it, but it will either error beep or boot loop without a card.
And most of the people seem to be in the UD4 or UD7 threads now. But all the rage seems to be the Z68 and X79...
Ok, the horrendous sound is coming from my Panaflo fan...out of all things...if I unplug the panaflo, everything is dead crystal silent....
