Nice, that ecs looks great! I like the tall 8 pin connector, debug LED position, cmos reset on the rear i/o, looks like it's got it all.

In fact they all look good apart from the msi which looks like a smurf digested a CHIV

They also seem to have a PATA connector as well.

I wonder why the retention bracket is split on some boards ? Guess they figure all the good coolers require you to remove it anyway ?

I kinda like that too, come across stock coolers with way to much bubblegum type paste on before now and it's near impossible to take the cooler off without pulling the cpu out, with it now split like that you could slide it off no probs

Here's to hoping the bios is good and it isn't priced to high like the p67 one. If its around $100 with a half decent bios ( with more than 4 ram timings ) I'd hit it up for a daily rig.

They seem to have made several models, but I haven't seen them being used much:

Couldn't someone just cut off the side plastic pieces of a current bracket if they wanted that style bracket?

The ECS board loooks really good, and still using a PATA DVD RW, looks like the one I think I would go for if it gets UK distribution

On the ECS... to the left of the ram... it looks like a little beeper thingamabob. So you'll get the beep during POST.

I have one on my hardware raid card... I couldn't LIVE anymore without beep on booting. But I'll probably retire this RAID card soon since it is only PCIe x1... so if a motherboard company has that little doohicky... I'm all for it.

You can plug a speaker into pretty much any motherboard. Can't remember a board that didn't have a speaker plug.

I think the only ones that we have no idea about is Biostar & Gigabyte.
Will Biostar continue with their 'bug zapper' LEDs design, will they have a blood red board, or will they chicken out, and go with the brown design?

I somehow doubt Gigabyte will do anything special either.

Mats, ahh, so that is why they did that. I guess that means, that if you want to mod your old AM3 board, just get out the saw, and you to can be the proud owner of a AM3+ style retention bracket, with a bonus 'cooling factor' thrown in!

Yeah, they will go old school, and have a bunch of jumpers on the board!
