What's up with the memory support? It lists anything over 1333 as OC.

140W? There are no current CPUs from AMD with that TDP, right?

The board looks nice, but features are kinda lacking, especially for a FX board, 6 SATA ports only? 1 LAN port? And needs more USB3 ports as well.

    It's 6 SATA 3.0 and 2 eSATA 2.0 so 8 in total.

Did they change this motherboard's power section enough to fix the issues that the 790 and 890 gd70's had?

Also, it looks like they got rid of the buttons/knob to overclock, except the o/c genie one (which is worthles IMO.)

Looks nice...so this one that should has been the Big Bang (as the first leaks some time ago said) version has moved down to the GD80 level. So we can expect another high end mobo from MSI...though that PWM looks awesome

    I like it:
    Staggered dim slots.
First PCIe is 1x and second is 16x (just like i want my soundcard and gfx to be put).
NB heatsink does not interfere with the PCIe 1x device.
All angeled SATA(tho should have been 8).
Only 1 pci slot (tho 0 would have been better).
    No ide and floppy!
Seemes to have an reset CMOS button on the backside.

All in all, very good. Not perfect (for me), but close enough

Wonder how they got that 248% performance boost with OC Genie. Swapping CPUs between tests is cheating!

    248% of 3.2GHz is ~8GHz
When have we seen that on AMD?

Bulldozer looks promising but the motherboards are quite disappointing.

its the unlocking feature + overclocking that gives them 200+%

you know the UD7 AM3 from gigabyte was such a nice board, but then it became such a rare board so fast :/

Probably a combination of a lot of things, which doesn't really need to be explained given that it already has been.

Yes it is more than that. And you're not exactly making a useful comment.

I believe his actual point was along the lines of "it's a shame to see such a good CPU not having the benifit of better boards"

I think this line up of boards is looking pretty good compared to whats been available for AMD in the past few years. Maybe its because I won't spend $300 on a board so my qualifications are different as to what constitutes "good".
