I havnt posted in the amd section in over 5 years.what I ment was sandy is out now and we know it clocks well and nobody knows how high a bd will clock.

If it comes out to be a monster I will get it but I hate the fact that this board is so sensitive when someone brings up intels chips.the thread dosnt have to be about the directly as bd is ment to go head to head with sandy.

Apparently you haven't read the thread enough to realize that that post being discussed was not making any comparisons. I'm sure we'll see a lot more of these types of posts in the next few weeks since these type of people have nothing else to post about.

My issue isn't with comparisons themselves. It is with people trying to subvert threads to attack the "enemy" brand, the comparisons are just tools to accomplish this.

If I had a thread about a Zacate based netbook that cost $350 and someone started screaming that the Zacate was worthless because the ULV chip in a $1200 ultralight was superior: is this a comparison or just someone trying to lash out at a brand name?

I'm not saying I am above petty squabbling (I hate Apple, so I should stay out Apple threads for instance), but I'm willing to admit that. Some of the people here will not only deny they attack brand names but will try to justify it. If you call them out on it you get your "Cry, cry" or "Fanboy" mud slinging, they actually get angry when you point out their trolling. Pretty awesome.

You forgot mentioning the people that are not making comparisons but are posting their unsupported opinions about how a different brand is better. (And if somebody notices the lack of relevant content in their post they cry about how they are being badgered for posting a "comparison".)


PREDICTION: Based on past release histories:

1. If BD is awful they will be here dancing in joy and trolling with abandon.

2. If BD does well in one category but not as well in another they will tout the latter and do everything in their power to make it seem that the former is not important.

3. If BD is exactly equal to similarly priced Intel chips they will be here claiming that Intel is better because they have chips that cost 4 times as much and perform 15% better.

4. If BD is vastly superior they will be here claiming it doesn't matter since it goes against their opinion. (Or they will just disappear for awhile. But they'll be back... like a bad rash.)
