Plainly speaking, I am not one for estimates and predicates and promises and what if's and could have been's.

It is a little hard to get excited over something that "could be."
Now, I realized before having responding to your observation my statement sounding like a fan boy, however this is not the case. I do not subscribe to the official party line. A hypothetical conversation demonstrating the "party line" or "team" mentality might read something like this:
<person named Joe q> Sony is the greatest video game console ever.
<person named Robert y> I am inclined to agree only partially. While I enjoyed games on PS1, titles offered on PS2 did not appeal to me, but I do enjoy PS3 quite a bit.
<person named Joe q> WTF?!?!?!?!?!?! you Xbox fan boy!!!
After 17 years watching AMD and Intel slide back and forth on the performance charts, predictions of high performance processor these days leaves me a little cold.
