Seriously though Darakian, with so many board partners saying that BD will fit in AM3, and run with just a BIOS update,
I'd have to think there won't be any physical limitations with BD and AM3....

Will the AM3 boards take advantage of all the features BD has to offer?
I doubt it! It may work, but I'm thinking Turbo Core, and Power planes won't function as they should on 890FX boards.

Fortunately my board is on the list for BD support.
If it wasn't though, I personally wouldn't buy an 890FX with the hopes that it'll take BD to it's full potential.

Only time will tell... Hopefully we don't have much longer to wait.

It's quite simple, really. If you have a board that works with a BIOS update, keep it and use it for BD until you know that it's not good enough,
and in the meanwhile you'll find out what to buy instead.

Wait wait wait, the bulldozers to come out soon are going to be branded with FX-X100, aren't they? And gigabyte already wants to support FX-X200?? And APU cores?? How are they going to do that on current boards?

I get what you're saying, but the worrying part is that no single board maker has actually addressed the issue of the extra pin. In fact the image linked above by lokinhow actually states that a new revision will be required.

Just a heads up (note to self) MSI doesn't list the 770-C45 on their AM3+ list but the BIOS files are identical to the 870-C45 which IS on the list. Files were compared using a MD5 hash.

Fingers crossed... update 770-C45 BIOS, pop in a BD!
