True, but maybe performance is also almost the same? throughput looks very similar, but 4k randoms and IOPS might be different

But vertex 3 doesn't come in a 60gb model & it's much cheaper than the vertex 3 over in the uk.

You can pre order the 60gb model for £100 which is quite a steal http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduc...odid=HD-075-OC

Maybe a bit lower performance NAND in Agility 3...hence the lower IOPS and price...

    Yeah...true about the 60Gb model

@Gilgmaesh:thx for posting the solid 3 specs, though they seems a bit weak in my opinion

    Agree.
I would have hoped for more aggressive prices on those budget ssd (Agility and Solid).
Something like 80 euro for 60Gb, good for 4x raid 0

I have been tempted to buy the 120 Vertex 3 but as it chokes on torture test (Which the 240 do not and thats way to expensive) then I think I might end up getting something else instead :s

    Another thing is

    Price of:
    Intel 320 120GB = 1400DKK (MSRP 209$)
    Intel 320 160GB = 1900DKK (MSRP 289$)
    Vertex 3 120GB = 2150DKK (MSRP 249$)

So they the stores in DEnmark are using that they sell like hotcakes I suppose

I was just getting ready to look for 2x64GB M4's to do RAID-0. I don't think 2x60GB Agility 3's will be any better...thoughts???

I see that OCZ gave up on their competitive prices. No big loss for me since I wouldn't consider another OCZ drive anyways.

I have 2x Vertex 3 Maxiops 120gb and 2x Crucial m4 128gb. Crucial m4 does not suck. It is actual faster than OCZ v3 MI in non compressible files. AKA the real deal :p

Vertex 3 is good for ATTO. M4 is good for everything else. I had to run hdderase on the OCZ MI to get full performance. M4 worked flawless on the first run

    2x vertex 3 MI 120gb R0 before hdderase VS After hdderase VS 2x M4 128gb R0:

One of these 60gb agility's along with 2 TB WD black and a Z68 board should be quite phenomenal in terms of size/price/performance.
I'm definitely going to try it out as soon as my Z68 board arrives

So then non-compressible file performance is better for day to day normal OS and Programs and everyday use??? I just want the best for my budget...which is either 2x60/64GB in R0 or a single 120/128GB.

I don't do any huge file transfers, but have to start getting back to doing my photo editing (Nikon Capture NX2 and Photoshop CS5) and Blu-Ray ripping (DVDFab or MakeMKV) and encoding to MKV (HandBrake) once I get my SB system up and running. Only use my SSD's for OS/Programs/Page File/Scratch Disk/etc...all storage (pics and videos) are on my Samsung F3 1TB.

    Real world difference between 350 Mb/s and 500 Mb/s = 0.

The new Vertex drives look brilliant on paper and in benchmarks, but once you have them installed and start running OS + programs, you wouldnt be able to notice any difference at all.

Very wrong. Vertex 3 doesn't come in a 60GB capacity, Agility 3 does. Twice as cheap.
