Yes. If you want to be absolutely sure just keep a eye open for the Marvell boot version. If you see L73 at the end, all is good.

    where u gone ?

Cud u tell me how to setup the bios to get the system stable?

    CPU Q9550 E0
    P5Q Deluxe
    4 x 2 GB 1066

Tryin to get FSB 471 stable.

    But havin problems.

    currently settings:

    CPU : 1,3xxV +-
    PLL : 1,50V
    GTL 0/2 :0,650
    GLT 1/3: 0,675
    FSB(vtt): 1,30V
    FSB Strap: 333mhz
    Memory: 943Mhz
Dram: 2,02v (no effect up to 2,14v)
    NB Voltage: 1,32V
    NB Gtl: 0,655
    SB: 1,1v
    pcie: 1,5v
    Performance Level: 15

    LLC: Auto
    CPU Margin..: Performance
    CPU spread...: disabled
    pcie spread: disabled

    rest is auto or disabled.

Sometimes I can pass 20 times LinX, sometimes not.
Prime (custom/large) runs a couple of hour's, sometimes without error, sometimes with error.

Got many bluescreens in the last days.

    Board and cpu are watercooled.

It's really hard to get this setup stable... but I think it's a question of the GTL's because my system stability react extremely sensitive to higher or lower gtl's.

    1. Load BIOS defaults and disable the POST screen, keep a sharp eye as the 2nd screen after the POST screen will only flash up for a moment, but eitherway you have the modded BIOS.
    2. Trial and error. Every system reacts differently. Pushing toward 500FSB will take more than just fiddling with settings you will want to make sure the board is operating as stable and cool as it can which means replacing the rubbish stock TIM on the mobo chipset with something decent and replacing those pushpins with some screws, washers and nuts. That will help not only keep the chipset cool, but also help eek another ~10MHz or so FSB.

NP Those old P45 boards had a lot more to offer than people thought.

Hehe. I agree with you 100%. I had a P5Q Pro I just couldn't seem to kill. Heck, it was hard to make the thing even lock up. Very stable and forgiving with settings on the CPU, up to ridiculous speeds on air. Very fun motherboard to play with.

I have an MSI P45 board in a media center now. I put it there because it has the ICH10 southbridge from Intel. I thought the ICH10 would give me the ability to use port multipliers, and I wanted to use a dual drive chassis in a RAID 1 setup for data backup on my HTPC/Server. The ICH10 on the EVGA x58 tri-SLI that I have brought both drives right up.

After digging, calling, and questioning until I was blue in the face, I finally discovered the difference myself. Not all ICH10's are created equal. The one in the EVGA is the ICH10R. The R = RAID. Evidently this also contains the hardware subset necessary to recognize ALL the drives on connected port replicators. Thus, the EVGA has this feature, but even high end P45 motherboards like the MSI do not.

Look for the ICH10R. Too bad I can't justify an X58 motherboard/CPU/RAM expense for my HTPC/Home server.

Thanks ket, for modding the latest official P5Q PRO Turbo bios 0602, and for helping so many people with what seemed like a nightmare bios over a couple of years. BTW the modded 0602 are in the most recent P5Q series mBIOSes.7z but I don't think you made a post about it only the modding of the 0401. I've just read all 38 pages of this thread lol bored while waiting for my new board to arrive and its been a journey, from no Pro Turbo in existence at all, through to no more time available to work on bioses, dead boards and dodgy ebay sellers and business ventures in I.T.

Hope everything turned out well for you with all that, and if you are still looking for feedback I'll let you know how the bios is doing for me sometime after my board arrives tommorow and I get your 0602m on it and some testing done. my lanparty DK P45 T2RS died yesterday after a bad flash

Thanks again for helping so many people over the years, and no doubt me starting from tommorow.

Anyone else using a P5Q Pro Turbo using the latest modded bios? Any gotchas when using the hardware in my sig?

Everything in your sig should work fine Not long after making the last batch of mBIOSes that dodgy P5Q Deluxe I was sold died it would seem. I might try to RMA it directly with Asus but I dunno if there would be much point. Damn shame as I still really like that P5Q boards

    too bad man

I installed this eventually, a bios that has been modded by 2 or 3 users after you. adding latest intel rst etc. http://www.overclock.net/11435003-post32.html

My question to you is this, do the alternative memory tables and p6 microcode allow you to then use some different staps other than 1:1?

just sold my beloved P5Q premium that was fashionably rocking your ver 2001 BIOS on it...twas a great board, did 624FSB with an E8500 on DICE.

Keep up the awesome BIOS work man, it really livened up my P5Q Pro, and while not doing so much the same to the premium, it was still awesome

Hi there. This is my first post on this forum. I've been reading this thread for some time and from the looks of it you are the guys that can help me. I got an old P5QL Pro, stuck an E8400 on it with 2x2 Gb DDR2 800 Mhz. Tested the ram till 1021 Mhz. It gets there but not stable. So i would be able to push the proc further
The maximum FSB i can get from the board is 425. Thats 3.825 Ghz. Im running the latest bios (1004 if im not mistaking)
Can you guys help me with a moded bios to be able to reach higher FSB's on this board? I believe it has a P43 chipset, but still. It should be able to take it further than 3.8 Ghz

    Thanks

I'm not going to be making anymore mBIOSes for these boards. So if anybody claims to have a new mBIOS from me, its not. I do think this thread needs to be stickied though.. almost 1.1 million views for cryin out loud and people still post in the thread!

New Intel Raid option rom v10.5.0.1034 http://win-lite.de/benutzer/fernando...20Fernando.rar . P5Q Deluxe mods + Intel Raid option rom v10.5.0.1034 = not worked

    Notes:
1.Known Issue is defined as a potential RST issue that has been replicated internally by the Rapid Storage Technology team but has not been root caused to be an RST defect.

2.Specification Clarification: This is a clarification of a previously undocumented limitation of the Intel® RST product for Rapid Recover Technology volumes. When creating an RRT Volume at least one member disk (master or recovery) must include 100% of the available capacity of the disk and the disk capacity must be less than or equal to 1.3125 ТВ.

3.This release disables the Capacity Expansion feature. Contact Cameron Landers (cameron.landers@intel.com). Intel® RST PME representative, with any questions.

4.Beginning with RST 10.5, the RAID Option ROM version will not be tied to the RST dnver and user interface version. The RAID OROM version will only be incremented when there is a change to the OROM. The production version of the RAID OROM is 10.5.0.1034 while the driver is version 10.5.0.1026 and user interface version is 10.5.0.1027. Also, the OROM binary file is now called 5ataOrom.bin and the size has increased from RST 10.1; Image size is ~ 119KB and the Runtime size is ~41.5KB. Contact your RST representative with any questions.

5.This RST version adds support for disks > = 2TB in RAID mode. This indudes the ability to boot to them if supported by the system BIOS.

6.To enable the Intel® Smart Response Technology feature, the RST 10.5.0.1034 OROM, the RST 10.5.0.1026 dnver, the RST 10.5.0.1027 user interface and the Cougar Point Z68 SKU are required.

7.When an ODD is in the Zero Power state, some ODDs may disappear when a hardware re-scan is initiated via the Windows Device Manager. A second hardware re-scan conducted before the Zero Power Idle Timeout value is reached (default is 60s) will return the drive to an OS visible state. This behavior is believed to be related to the length of time an ODD requires to become ready during power on from the zero-power state.

8.Microsoft" .NET Framework 3.0 is required to be installed on the system in order for the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology User Interface to install. Note that not all Microsoft" Operating Systems have .NET 3.0 installed by default. Refer to the Microsoft3* website for details.

9.A Vista OS Installation using a Matrix RAID Array on a system with a 9.5 or newer OROM requires the user to F6 a 9.5 or newer driver.

The most probably cause for that OROM not working is that its a customised OROM and not a "full fat" or generic OROM.

Stopping mods for these boards had to happen eventually. The last set of mBIOSes I made give these boards everything they need to be solid, reliable, overclockable, compatible boards for a very long time.

    @Ket:

any chance to integrate new Intel 10.5.x O-ROM in your Mbioses, please? Or, tell us how to do it yourselves? Btw: did you change boot logo in your latest Mbioses pack - if yes, how to restore the original one (I know there's a logo pic changinh app from Asus)?

Just stumbled upon this thread and decided to try your bios on my sons board and wow whatta difference. Took max FSB from 470 to 550 on lower voltage w/his E6750. I was always very disappointed with this sorta flaky ASUS board but it's really flyin for him now. Thnx a bunch man really!!
