They did show K8 before launch, there were also some previews if i remember correctly.

this was in 2002, we are 9 years later, don't you think they have the right to change how they will release their products ? And anyway if you read the article you will understand it was made after AMD have show the new K8 during the IDF ... ( lol AMD who was made presentation of their system in an hotel suite during IDF ... i like )
