    GTX 560 Waterblock

    Hello,

Are there any full cover water blocks for the GTX 560 Ti?

I've been in touch with EK support, and they've told me they'll have their's on sale in 3-4 weeks time. That's too long a wait for me though, so I would prefer to see if any other vendors will be offering them.

    Thanks,

    Odai.

Sorry to bump this again (late thank you for those links by the way Guapa5000), but I was wondering if anyone had heard anything from EK regarding their new GTX 560 blocks?

I wanted to avoid the Watercool block due to the copper base (prefer nickel), and EK usually offer some sort of nickel plated block. Well, Koolance too, but I haven't seen anything regarding a 560 block from them.

The cooling configurator on EK's site states an ETA of February 2011 for the blocks, I guess they've forgotten to update it.

Hi, yeah, there has been a 'short' delay with the 560Ti block due to insane demand of our flagship products. But they should be available around the 20th of April 2011, give or take few days.

Ah, that's excellent. Thanks for the update.

I'm guessing they'll only be available from your web shop to begin with?

Yes, from the online store at first. Your favorite retailer will have them on stock like always - within a week or so

Thanks Gabe, but I'd prefer to have the whole card under water. That, and I don't wanna be air cooling for a second longer than is necessary (assuming EK get their blocks out as planned).

@Tiborrr, do you know whether your 560 block will have water flowing over the VRM area, or will it just be a slab of nickel for passive cooling (as it was with the EK FC460)?

Odai: Sorry, just a slab of nickel. The block needed to stay cheap.

Ah, too bad. I assumed that because the nickel covering the VRMs is itself topped in Acetal, it would contain water channels. Meh.

So, what difference will this making in temps? 10C? 15C?

    Nice.

Although I was a bit shocked to see the delivery prices - any idea when these will arrive in the UK, and at what retailers?

    Thanks,

    Odai.

No idea, but I just hope it will be better than the stock cooling (I will be overclocking and overvolting the card).

If this block simply covers the VRMs with a slab of nickel, then from what I understand it will simply be a passive cooling effect.

On the other hand, the stock 560 Ti cooling set up has a conducting plate covering the VRMs, and is actively cooled by the fan.

Plenty of people have reported problems with the VRMs on the 5xx series of cards, so I am keen to keep them as cool as possible.

560Ti stock cooler has aluminum heatsink covering the VRM area, only core has copper heat-pipe assembly. During my testing 560Ti VRM was cooled enough as water run fairly close to the VRM itself. Back side of the VRM was around 60°C with Twater @ ~ 37°C, the hottest part were the input 16V capacitors which were peaking around 65°C, still well beyond it's 105°C limit. That was during 1h+ furmark run.

Fair enough. Any idea what temperatures they were reaching under stock cooling?

All I know is that right now the VRMs are too hot to touch, hardly scientific.

Any chance of an update also on when we can expect stock in the UK?

    Thanks again,

    Odai.
