Ya, it's not gona stop me from using a high multi if that's the setting that works best for what I'm trying to do, but I would like to know why it does it and how to fix it.

Windows assumes stock multi is being used and goes off BCLK only so it will calculate BCLK x stock multi and give you the speed in sys info.

not really actually. tested with both T2 and T1 on the same timings and it seems to come out the same every time on what programs i have to test it. i DON'T have everest though which would show in detail what i'm missing out on but nothing else seems to be noticing a difference.

I just finished reading this whole thread. Took me about a week and I don't think I retained
half of the information, but thanks to all of you guys I have learned a lot.

I need some help with linx and any suggestions at all with my settings.

I can pass prime95 but linx stops with error after first loop. My average temp is below 70c.
I can drop my vcore if I go to 4500MHz but stops linx after two loops. Here's my settings:

    Code:

    Target DRAM Frequency 2005MHz

Bump up your Vtt (QPI) 1.30v is probably too low for DDR3-2000 MHz. Try something like 1.3625v (probably about 1.32v real) and see if that helps.

Well, I tried higher Vtt but no joy. Why is it that I can run prime95 no problem, but linx is a no go?
Do I have wrong settings maybe, or does linx put more stress?

There isn't an Intel AHCI option ROM.
Thanks, that's correct and may be why the mod does not work. I looked through all 36 modules in the BIOS with a hex editor and notepad, and none are Intel AHCI ROM, so this may by why the new ROM fails to load, some other module in the BIOS would also need edited to call the new RAID ROM into action.

I ran into a similar issue trying to mod the 10.1.0.1008 ROM into some EVGA BIOSes for users a few weeks ago, they are in a similar boat with no Intel AHCI ROM either, so without the manufacturer editing in the newest ROM it's not going to work using normal end user mod methods.

10.1.0.1008 is a good ROM though, so you guys should be fine with that. I am not sure what was in your BIOS before this one, but many boards are still using 9.6 or earlier (Updated a few from 8.0-8.5 last week), so at least you now have 10.1.0.1008 anyway!

@ C300 SSD users - if any of you are thinking about setting up RAID on the Marvell 9128 controller please see my C300 review linked in my signature! This controller cannot handle SSD's in RAID, and speeds will be slower than that of a single drive (When it's not crashing on you during a bench ) Gigabyte has even edited their specifications for boards with these controllers, adding that SSD RAID should not be used.

try running with HT off maybe and try manually setting qpi data link manually at closest to 6400 and then try toying with your rTL's manually as they tend to be choosen too tight or too loose when set to auto.

I'm wondering if the new Marvell FW and option ROM will possibly solve this issue? I don't have 2 C300s to test with, but the new BIOS I got from MrToad (SEE HERE) for the Rampage III Gene fixed all the issues I was having just trying to have the computer recognize the drive to install Windows. Might be able to input the same Marvell package into the 1301 release for the Extreme.

I figured out how I can put them on the Intel controller, I cant believe how I overlooked it before ...

Move the DVD drive to a marvel port, then I have two free Sata II ports

So now I just need to wait for the 64 Gb C300 to go on offer, which should happen as soon as the M4 is released

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep a look out for 64 Gb C300 reductions over the next few weeks.

Thanks, Deboyzfun for the info. Getting it now and i wonder what the deal is with this one. Two of them released in one month. Odd indeed but i like they are doing them though that fast.

I assume you have one card in the first pci-express and the other in the third. I do believe each ez plug powers the two shared lanes. So the first plug will power 1rst & 2nd pci-express. And the other will do the 3rd & 4th slots.

They are both on the same power plane so use either.

    Just a quick question.

I'm running SLI with 2x 480's in slot #1 and #3, this blocks off my PCI slot for my soundcard, Do I have to skip this soundcard and use the built in one?

Why not place it in the forth one? Or is it too tall to go in the second lane? As you know they will work in a full pci express lane also. Also forgot to mention if you are using the hard sli-bridge, just use a long flex cable maybe.

.. unless you buy a single slot video card bracket.

in the users manual it's wrote that, 2 way sli is only supported on slot 1 & 3.
