    Spot on.
Bumped it a couple of notches and got a few 100 gfps. Tried with 5120 Mb of ram, 10240 Mb didn't seem to help with more ram and then tried 5120 Mb ram with 6C 12T. Too much heat to continue 96 deg on core 6 and wouldn't get close to 100gfps.

    @CryptiK. Nice. My 990 wants around 1.416 for 4.56 6C 12T but I only ran 4 loops of linx.

*SS shows 1.343v, but was at 1.336v 90% of the time, didn't notice till I was uploading pics.

    Running 21st loop

    Finished 25th loop

looks like you got a good chip, and with nice timings, clean run

Second SS on above post. Pretty much the same as 5120Mb, just took longer.

@ Crossg - see if bumping your qpi data link up might help a bit and if you haven't already, bump your VTT a bit more. it seems you may be loosing bandwidth room at the higher mem tests or something or just need a little more VTT for stability.

assuming you're still running 12gb on that rig as shown in your sig. for me it's taking about 1.418 - 1.425v-ish VTT for stability with 2x uncore and data link around 7.4-ish i think (can't recall off the top of my head, away from home at the moment). as long as you can efficiently take the heat with no higher than about 85*c average temps between all 6 cores you should be fine at that high of VTT. also know 980x chips have crapy sensors from what i've been able to find so the high temps you're seeing on only a couple cores is directly related to these crapy sensors apparently. for mine i've had cores 1 and 5 on my RT-gt touch 98-99 yet PC probe, bios, rog and HWmonitor all show about 82-85*c on cpu temps.

Just tried the same settings on my 990X and bumped the uncore to double the ram speed and set the VTT a little higher to 1.3375. No desire to push the Vtt any higher as I don't think the gflops will increase and it does pass LinX. I don't run this 24/7 just test and bench. I use 12 Gb of ram in day to day use but when benching I use 6Gb. Less heat. My ram isn't the greatest for Ocing so this was just to see if i could get 100 gflops and were drifting off topic here.

Guys just a pointer and I hate to sound 'harsh', but this isn't a general oveclocking and discussion thread. If you don't have an OC of 4.5GHz or over validated with 20+ loops of LinX, and instead you just have general discussion of GFLOPS and 2 and 4 loop runs of LinX posts, best to post somewhere suitable for general stuff like that like your motherboard thread etc. I don't feel it's appropriate to expect people (and Zalbard) to wade through that stuff in here - save posting here for when you have got your settings down and worked hard to get that 20 loop run done.

A question here or there I think is fine, but I just hope this thread stays specific and on task rather than drifting. Most threads like this get forgotten about and never updated, Zalbard does an awesome job and I think it's the spirit of this thread to stay specific about 4.5+/20+ loops.

EDIT - I dunno, reading over my post I seem like some whinging old guy. Im all for helping each other out and stuff, just, I dunno it sounded ok in my head..

Yeah I don't have an issue or argument with what you said. I had already
said that we were drifting O/T. Which loosely translated means end of conversation!

@Zalbard you can delete the above metioned posts if you so desire and didn't mean to drift O/T in your thread.

I think he means the first gulftown stasio, since there is two parts for sandy bridge and others now, one for under 100 gflops and one for over 100 gflops.

Just thought I'd pop in and say hi.
I'm done with my work (trip) and have earned a well-deserved two week long vacation.
I'll get things swept and sorted out during this weekend. The OP will be completely up-to-date. I will also try to address all the piled up questions/issues/concerns. All posts will be reviewed, no contribution will be skipped or left hanging. Just give me some time.
Sorry about that, and thanks for understanding.
