    Cool EK-LGA115x TRUE Backplate

    Hi fellas,

we at EK have come up with the true backplate reinforcing plate for the motherboards featuring Intel's LGA-1155 and LGA-1156 CPU sockets. The EK-LGA115x TRUE Backplate is intended to replace the original integrated latch mechanism (ILM) backplate (BP) of the LGA-1155 Socket-H2 and LGA-1156 Socket-H1.

This product may be used with all EK-Supreme series water blocks! Also useful for hardcore benching as it is compatible with almost any CPU pot and single-stage/cascade phase change coolers

Flat head socket screws, but the holes aren't countersunk... any reason for that?

The last part of the question was "is it compatible".

Sorry John, I've missed that part. Ofcourse it is compatible, with every EK-Supreme series water block. Also with some 3rd party products such as LN2/DICE pots etc.

I don't understand why your EK universal backplate doesn't have the holes needed to fit in 115X properly...and that you launched a product thats only compatible with 115X.

EK Universal backplate has the holes to fit all desktop socket motherboards, including the LGA-1155/1156. I don't know where did you got the idea the EK-Universal Backplate doesn't fit it. This is a specific LGA-1155/1156 socket motherboard product, it is a ILM (socket latch) backplate replacement, therefore it can only be compatible with the LGA-1155/1156 socket.

I don't really understand the advantage of this plate, can't you just put 4 washers instead? :p

He's talking about holes in the backplates for the three ILM (socket latch) screws so the backplate can sit right on the square ILM backplate not on 'top' of the ILM screws.

Yes, why that flat head screws? When I got my HF block last month I thought it had come with the wrong screws as they where FLAT HEAD. But I looked at my friends screws and they where FLAT HEAD also.. WHY?

It does not sit on the Intel back plate, so you get an even mount and it is not as thick so it does not push against the MB tray. This is why I liked Koolance and Swiftech back pates, but this is even better. I am surprised that no one had did this before since with AMD you replace the hold down bracket anyway and i would have thought that someone would have done this already. I think it's a great idea, just need one for 1366.

I have always wondered this also. It makes no sense to me.

Also, where can these be found in stock in the US?

    Thanks,

    1366 has a stock backplate.

    And its very effective.

We dont need one for 1366.

    1155 is another story.
My M4E didnt have a backplate even.

However tibbor can we get a picture of the socket and how the retension system looks?
Did u guys make it ONLY for eK products? or did u make it universal?

The backplate is practicly universal, it will fit any waterblock/dry ice or LN2/singlestage or cascade cold head. The holes are made for M4 bolts (or ANSI INCH equivalent).

This EK-LGA115x TRUE Backplate fits all Supreme series waterblocks, also the newest EasyMount series. Included are the four (shorter) screws for the EasyMount system.

The plate is easy to mount. Remove the original ILM BP with the enclosed Torx T20 key and replace it with the EK-LGA115x TRUE Backplate. The instruction manual can be found here:

XSPC already do a 1155 mount with the socket mount screw holes. This is one step better though if youre prepared to undo the socket...
