Just got this beast. Anyone know the diff between the 82583 and the 82579 Intel Lan controllers?

I played with every skew setting on one of my chips. The lower 4 do not have ill effects. The top 2 ( voltage + bclk skew ) however no matter what setting or combo fail to post.

Yes i understand that shammy, but it seems the value it is at whatever it may be can not be set manually? Any attempt to set it manually fails post Maybe my chip is just mentally challenged though.

I can run any test at that bclk. 32m strikes a nerve on this board more than anything i can run 3d......The other tests don't mean much tbh but i always test above and beyond

Where did you get CPU-Z 1.57.2? The latest I see is 1.57.1 (ROG's Edition).

How to find max multi...

Try this with 51X to start, doesn't matter what air cooling you use..







My cpu maxed @ 56X

57X will stop @ blinking cursor and AE on post code reader. Sometimes a cpu can boot all the way to windows splash/bars and freeze...that means limitation of multi has been reached..

Guys, should i reject this board? I sent my B2 for B3 swap but it came back like this...




so basically Asus just desolders the old B2 chipset and resolder B3 on old board, forget about scratch here and there, missing accessories and return it to customers. Is this the so-called B3 one to one exchange program?

I took delivery of a B3 board which was well used. There was heatsink dust and heatsink scratches on it, screw marks, etc. It was DOA anyway and had to be RMA'ed

i have one cpu that loves + on bclk skew for higher bclk L051Axxx
and another that likes - on bclk skew for higher bclk 3103Bxxx

vcore for vcore etc all voltages on both are same

yes of course I will do that, because this is a FLAWED one to one swap program committed by ASSus. They are supposed to give me a BRAND NEW board without question asked.

It didn't matter to me because the thing was well used and useless. I only tried it in the first place to just get some "early learning" in..........Yelp! Some learning curve, more like "flat lining"

what a bad first impression u had there man.
ASSus will do anything as long as there has a business for them. They never care about their customer feeling instead only concentrate on doing sales. The "desoldering-resoldering" B3 chipset took 3 weeks + which shows they are slowpoke and inefficient in handling such an after sales service. Bottom-notch service

No doubt this is what's happening right now.
B2 boards were revamped to B3, without checking the bent pins, scratches here and there.
I was wondering whether they do pre-test on this resoldered B3 board or not before returning to buyers and becomes DOA.

I would definitely return those turd looking boards asap and demand a bnib product just like you bought originally.
