It's too bad GIGABYTE doesn't keep Stasio up to date each week (or so) like they said they would.

I have been using F3c for a week or so without issue, and just started using F3h without issue as well, so I think either will be fine for you to use
aaaaahhhhhhh that JZ guy, the same guy that made his forum members pay to get BISO updates. Stasio is excellent at putting up BIOSes, hes got it undercontrol, i agree it woudl be nice to have him get em every week, i don't want a freaking modded BIOS if i don't know what he has done.

Thanks F3C and then F3H it is, i really never have problems with BIOSes, so i might even try the newer ones.

Hmm so it's not my chip then. I can boot in at 100.8 set in BIOS but I loose efficiency until I back it down to 100.5. I want moar bclock.

Hmm I know I can't fit even a 25mm thick fan on the memory side of my megahalems with Corsair Dominators in dimm 0 & 2. Ram with a short heatspreader should help though. The socket is close to the memory slots.

I have my B3 arriving on Thursday , is it advisable to do a fresh os install, or will drivers alone be ok?

Thx for this D00D.....I've passed on chips (4) to a pal with 2 Asus boards (evo & ME4) who knows a hell of a lot more than me and bclk is much higher than what I can achieve with Gigga's Premium board. Rather dissappointing.

Now I know there are guys out there who have tested lots more chips than me, but after 9 2600K's and one 2500K the best I could do with bclk was 103.......but max multi was 51 on that chip.

AND BEFORE ANYBODY SAYS "SB doesn't do bclk like X58" .....uh huh...yah.....I know.....save your breath.....

So come on Gigga.....330 euros+ for a board in Europe with an immature bios that reboots to the point that I can go shopping and come back in 20 minutes (yes, even with B3) is sorta making me feel like this will be my first and last GB board. Sorry for the rant, but at this point, not feeling the luv...and the last thing we need is some yahoo screwing with Stasio who is putting the info out there when he gets it.

Well I have no reboot issues with F3c. I did with F2 that the board shipped with but that lasted about twenty minutes. With the beta bios it will boot once and fail and then reboot to the backup bios with default settings. It still takes longer than I'd like but it's not so bad. Overall I like this board, but I knew of all the issues you guys were having before I purchased. I just hope some more BIOSes will start rolling out to test FROM STASIO!! He's the best.

I can run 3d with more than 107 mhz bclk (finished 2k1 with 108 and 2k6 with 107.4 mhz) without problems. Settings are very stable - when I can get into windows, I can bench.

Unfortunately I have some problems performance-wise. I have to figure out what it is - maybe chuchnit's issue has something to do with it.

Interesting. What PCH volts are you using? I am still very new to this board so I have a lot of feeling out to do with this setup. I was benching 01 last night at 100.8 set in BIOS (cpuz show -.2 bclock from BIOS) and my efficiency was down in game tests. I stepped it down to 100.5 and my score popped. Tonight I'm going to try some lower multi's and see if I'm just hitting a mhz wall.

I voltages are nearly stock. But I set it manually.

    VCore: 1.435 volts llc1
    VTT: 1.050
    System Agent: 0.935
    PCH Core: 1.050
    PLL: 1.780
    DRAM: 1.600

Everything else is set on AUTO.

With these settings I can go past 107 mhz easy. When trying to hit 108 I had to slightly adjust VTT to 1.1, System Agent to 0.945 and PCH Core to 1.1. If running high multipliers I have to set PLL to 1.84 and adjust VCore (up to 1.60).

you know what LSDMEASAP said a while back, because i was able to do 107blck with my 2600K as well, my ty 2600K at that, and he said that the cold with lower voltages help. He was kind of right, when i went for 107 blck i was just walking up BLCK without any voltage increases, then when i went back to try with voltage increases to reproduce it, because i used ti in a review as max blck i was unable to do so. I tried again took temps down to like 3C and i was able to do it again. That was on a B2 stepping board.

You have to use an SPIflash with ID check disabled.
    You can try http://www.mediafire.com/?ztnl3xlwjwd
    or http://g0rbi.000space.com/index.php?id=11
No idea if either version of spiflash is compatible even with a NON crossflashing, but the one on g0rbi should be newer. YMMV.

Pretty sure going from B2 to B3 would work, as long as the B2 stepping info is still there.
B3 to B2 is choose your own adventure land, since the B3 stepping info isn't in a B2 bios, so that's YMMV. And I take NO responsibility for your computer blowing up if it doesn't work. And make sure you have Leegolfd's emergency backup bios invoke method available.

This would be a great experiment for someone about to RMA their board...
Anybody has newer SPIFlash to cross flash the BIOS (Ver.2.xx)?
    Links above,both is dated 26.Feb 2008 (Ver.1.20).

Up to now I haven't got any problems with vdimm (but maybe I only didn't discover an issue... ).
