also i have 3x 470 and i dont have the ez_molex conected. even though i'm planning on doing it. i have a silverstone strider plus 1000w and have the two 8pin atx conected.
i've also had a few "not rebooting" problems but it all seems fine now.
    i have 6GB of G-skill F3 12800CL6T-6GBPI (not sure if it's the best combo for this mobo/cpu)
i can play and run 3dmark with these settings but it's not IBT or prime95 stable. i would also like to have HT enabled. like how the task manager looks like a piano with all the threads :p

your vcore is not high enough for 4.5ghz.
your qpi is too high for 180bclk.
I heard from a few places that altering PCIE voltage can damage your video cards and usually doesn't improve stability.
You will want to try all CPU PLL settings... Every chip is different.
You also want to specify UCLK, QPI freq, and DRAM freq manually.
For 3x cards you want the ezplug connected because you can exceed the board's max power and burn the ATX24pin.

    Just flashed 0003!!!
I get more GFlops with 0003 than 1207 or 1005!!!
Same exact config that got me 79GFlops with 1207 gets 81GFlops with 0003!!!

Anyone know which is hte best bios of OCing?

    Cheers.

Yes, 40gb x-25m intel, the sataIII does not work good with windows installs and re-imaging software, if i have to re-image with acronis or install windows, i need swap to the normal sata ports for Acro to recognize the drive, and same thing for windows install, and then when the install is done, just move it back over to sata3 port.

What's the safe upper temp limit for a i7 950? Right now at 4GHz my 950 gets to around 86C on all four cores. Is this safe?

ok, then, i'll leave my SII hard disks, they still work fine, and ssd's costs too much for the gb they have

if you want to blow out your 950, that's the fastest way

    no liquid cooling right?

    4.2ghz with 0003:

I also upped my CPU PLL from 1.2 to 1.25875. Wasn't stable with 1.2 in 0003!

Hi guys, I'm back. My R3E is out for RMA cause of integrated sound card problems. Running from a backup machine. It took me couple of days to assemble one, cause none was ready, although there is a mess of a hardware around here.
I'm a little disappointed in my supplier, as they didn't give me a replacement board to use until mine is fixed/replaced, but that's how it usually goes here.

i have same clock as you zozon 21x200blck.
when i run LinX with full load (12Gb) my GFlops Drop to 56/58 dont know why.
I'll join you guys in quest for solving that problem, as soon as I get my board back, if you don't solve it in the meantime, which I hope you will.

I ran my Bloomfields up to high 90's (Celsius) when stress testing by LinX, and they are alive and kicking, not degraded a bit.

Doesn't running with a higher multi help you drop the vcore/Vtt at all? Higher bclk can improve system performance in one way, and your other settings (ram/uncore) might be where you want them, but I've found it easier to get things where I wanted them and reduce overall system stress and voltages using higher multi's. You can use up to 25x on the 970 right?

Running 12GB seems to be a whole different ballgame. I need 1.3375 to run any bclk up to 200... After that I can't seem to get any sort of stability...

Ah yes 12GB, heard its tougher than 6GB to stabilize. Ive played around with it but I dont have 12GB of matching ram so never bothered to try much with it.

Well Gulftown is a different beast compared to bloomfield. Took me a little while to get to know the CPU and the new board. Not sure what I'll settle on for 24/7 use, but have stabilzed a 4GHz OC and 4.3GHz OC. Both still have rather low ram speeds but with tighter timings (ram can actually run 6-6-6-18 tRFC 60 easily at that vdimm was just being careful for testing), I will look at setting these higher and do some testing to see what I prefer. Here's a couple of stability testing screens:

    LinX 25 pass @ max mem running loop 20 | 4.3GHz @ 1.277v | 3630MHz uncore @ 1.244 Vtt | DDR3-1612 6-7-6-20 1T @ 1.56v

    LinX 25 pass finished | 4.3GHz @ 1.277v | 3630MHz uncore @ 1.244 Vtt | DDR3-1612 6-7-6-20 1T @ 1.56

    Prime95 v26.5 Custom large FFT run w/4.5GB ram allocated at ~1 hour (I have found this great for testing ram/IMC | 4.3GHz @ 1.277v | 3630MHz uncore @ 1.244 Vtt | DDR3-1612 6-7-6-20 1T @ 1.56

    hello, I have one question
I have also Asus R3E, I want to buy a sound card X-fi Titanium HD and graphics card Asus 570gtx DirectCU II
The question is: Will the video card very warm sound card?
Video card will have a very big temperature they do not have good space for exhausting air?

    sorry for my English

Simple solution is to put them in slots that arn't right against each other...
    Example:
    PCIE-1 video
    PCIE-2 empty
    PCIE-3 empty
    PCIE-4 sound

@ Maxpayne the pci-e sound card will work in any of the pci-express lanes. That would be the small black one that is 1x or the full 16x pci-express slots also. So you got a large amount space between the gpu and the sound card.

I think the reason for him asking is the fact that the DCU II is a triple slot card due to the massive cooler. Should be fine if you put it in the bottom PCIe lane though

every chip is different. my 980 is 4.5ghz stable at 1.40625 vCore. his is a 970, not much different in comparison other than it having 4 cores instead of 6.

not trying to call anything out and be the rude guy, but even with the difficulties i've had, i can safely say that's not entirely true.

assuming your timings are the same as your sig there, try running on 2N instead. i've noticed on mine it doesn't like using 1N with 12gigs (granted you have 3 sticks of 4gb and i'm running 6 sticks of 2gb). when i took out 3 of mine, i was able to play with base clocks with alot more forgiving headroom than with all 6 sticks. the amount of memory is just too much of a load to go too outlandish with how high of a speed you go with. hell, my system throws a fit with any mem speeds over 1866. i start hitting 1900's and sticks start droping like flys even with RTL's heavily loosened and CL timings put as far as 12-12-12-30-100. though i am running on outdated bios again so things may change... but 12gb is a completely different playing field for sure.
