The exact change log:
Hmm...Crosshair IV Formula 3012 Test BIOS
For testing AM3+ CPU Function only, do no update this BIOS while using AM3 or previous type CPUs!
But why isn't there a name among the strings in the amibcp.
Maybe it only grabs that cpu's name from it's msr (like it should do for all cpu's anyways...), so it don't need a name string in the bios.
Or maybe it works as unknown or something I don't know.
I think maybe that the new sockets we saw are only for the cheap board's with mainly the 890gx chipset.
Maybe a ht bridge for the shaders on the cpu.
The reason I think so is because the new sockets while having a nice color, look cheap and flimsy like it's from a diff company maybe...
At least the ones I saw, I'm in no way saying they are bad, but the arm's and the size of the socket makes me wonder if it wasn't made by a diff company.
I'm kinda curious now though.
I still wonder if we do need a socket or not.
I wonder..., if we will get 12cores with this next gen...
Also, I figure since the 1090t is at $200 right now on newegg.
There will be another $280-300 cpu at least...
Probably an 8 core though.
Would be sweet if there was an 8 core for $200 and a 12 core for $300...
The new cpu must have a min value for tRC 12t..., or it's labeled as such in it's datasheet...
Which explains the new behavior of the bios.
Probably adds official 1600mhz ram support or something...
Making wild guesses.
