unfortunately puts great load on the system so i dont recommend it up to you guys
Nice work. Can you expand on your comment 'puts great strain on the system' ? They look like 330uf Tantalums, that shouldn't load it up too much capacitance wise although the cap size may change the timing of the circuit inappropriately and a different size may be better. If you feel 330uf is not optimal, can you try something in the 100 - 270uf or >330uf range? The Direct CUII is running 470uf tantalums and the GTX480 uses 390uf polymers.

thanks.. from 4.8ghz i had to lower i7 980x to 4.6ghz then when liquid temp rose had to lower to 4.4ghz unless i kept the liquid cool i had system instabilities
thats i used the very same caps used on the rest of the card: aluminum panasonic ecg polymer 2.5v 330uf 6.0mohm esr
at first i was surprised too just how much load it felt like lol but after the results im ok with it
yeh i couldve gone with 470uf or like the ones on gtx480 but since the waterblock covers over these caps i was in no mood to try different capacitors+capacitances
i didnt test single card went straight to 3x cards but for a single card id say this mod is a go the load wouldnt affect the system as much

That's odd, to me that sounds unrelated. Having to lower CPU 400MHz to remain stable and then experiencing instability as liquid temps rose sounds system (not VGA) specific. Unless your cards became unstable at same clocks/voltage (and in fact you said you gained clocks), I'd suggest it's something other than those caps causing the CPU issues.
The caps don't cause the card to draw more power, nor run hotter. They just filter the mosfet DC output and the only added load would be the initial inrush current at power on when the mosfets have to charge the caps.

Hi, guys!
I bought a GTX 580.
When I placed in the PC...My VID GTX 580 is 1.000V

What is the command for flashing GTX 580?
Nice 1V VID
If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right.
I tried but does not grip "nvflash -r" first and "nvflash -4 -5 -6 580bios.rom"
You have to call your saved bios you want to flash 580bios.rom in that example too btw.

Any ideas of when is the Gigabyte GTX580 SOC going to be launched?

Both, at idle the VID lowers to reduce temp and power usage.
I probably have the highest stock VID in this thread lol 1.088
whaaaaaaaaaaa 1.088? ahah ... wich temp do you get on your sys?![]()

Temp on the GPU ?
Thats a bit hard to compare due to the auto fan speed profile, I've been running my voltage at 1.000 for some time already while using the reference EVGA SC speeds, (797core) and its pretty fine. Im not sure how much the 0.088v adds to the heat as well.
Probably gonna try 1.000 @ 850Mhz core next week, highest I tried to OC my card with at stock volts is 900Mhz Core, I dont know how to start or even check for memory stability so I didnt touch it.

Its a bit hard to compare the temps since the fan is auto adjust and keeps the card under 85c at all times. Does 0.088v generate that much heat? I mean I've been running my card at 1.000 at EVGA SC speeds and I really cant tell the temperature difference but the card runs fine at 1.000
I also wonder why evga decided to give this card a stock 1.088v, i mean it runs perfectly fine at 1.000v and it OC's to 900Mhz core at stock VID.. maybe Im not stressing the card enough with games/3dmark11/heaven2.5 thats why I dont see it go unstable at 1.000v ?
