also price is as important as performance. So regardless how fast the "590" may be if its $1000 then only a small portion will actually buy this card and amd will continue to make money off their much cheaper priced cards.
What's funny is that everyone has been whining about why isn't it released and now that release is imminent now it's "It's going to be too expensive anyway"...

Finally some more details of this 6990. ATI should slap another fan to cool down the card, especially there is two GPU's, one just isn't really cutting it.

The fan in the middle makes it look pretty ugly...
So March, 8th is official, then? Sounds great!
That thing looks at least 5cm longer than 6970, btw.

This design is better, with the fan in between the two GPU's

9 days and counting. I cannot wait and hopefully it will be around $600. If it launches at a $600 price I will order it the first day. Then I will just have to wait for a new water block.

Guys guys... there is a reason why the fan is in the middle...

It's so they wouldn't have to grind down one of the 8 pin connectors by half to fit the cooler

Yeah you're right to be fair. Kind of annoying seeing that kind of post in threads like this. If you can't afford it why bother posting about it!?
I'll be getting one as I'm WAAAAY overdue a graphics card upgrade (and I finally want to be able to play Crysis ) and I've worked hard enough to treat myself .

EDIT - as above of course it'll be watercooled

Kind of disproportionate looking at the rig in sig? Bottlenecked like crazy, and you're probably going to need a new PSU.

that seems to be set by the PSU who i hope know best for delivering power.
i always found it weird how every decent PSU has a 6 pin, with the 2 extra pins just being chained off other ones. but i guess they have high enough gauged wires to handle the load. and now they dont mind doubling that number again on that PSU, id love to see how warm those wires get though.

Lol the system in my signature died a LONG time ago, I haven't gotten round to replacing it yet. I essentially have the basis for a watercooled system with no components in it.
Waiting for BD before I get a CPU/motherboard/memory and waiting for Antilles before getting a GPU/PSU lol.

EDIT - LOL my signature even says I'm still using Vista

EDIT 2 - Jeeeez that's one biiiiig card!!!
