If you know your memory is deffinately stable, increase vcore to say 1.35v and retest.

Hey guys, anyone know why my video card would be running on 8x mode? The specs say this board has 3*16x pcie slots.
My card is installed in the middle slot to move it away from the cpu to keep the temps down.

No board in the Asus P8P67 family has more than one electrical x16 PCIe slot...just the top one.

The first PCIe x16 slot runs at x16 speed if no card is in the second slot. If a card is in the second x16 PCIe slot both the first and second x16 PCIe slots run at x8 speed even if there is no card in the first slot. The third x16 PCIe slot runs at either x4 or x1 speed depending on the BIOS setting.

^ gotcha, hmm I may just stay in this config as the temps are justified. Only lose about 5% between the two speeds correct?

I usually run it with 3-4 x 512 instances. And then one with all unused memory ( this for a 4gb setup ) till it uses all the available memory (you can check this in task manager )

Let it run till 200-300%, if it doesn't error out rams are good to go... good luck
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Only the newest libraries, if you havent updated the LinX libraries then Prime95 stresses more.

Got a few more questions about this which I hope someone might be able to explain to me.
    Specs: P8P67 stadard, I7-2600, Bios 1305

    1) When I disable EPU in the bios it is enabled again the next time I enter the bios. Any idea why?

    2) When using the AI Suite 2 auto tune feature (extreme) it detects the highest speed I can run which seems to be 105.1 x 42 and the Bios I have set the turbo ratio to 42 which is max.
But when start up prime95 or something the multiplier only goes to 39 not 42 as it should.

    3) Anyway to change the speed of the PWR fan seems to be running a max constantly which is a bit to loud.

Anyone got Hypers work on these P8P67 boards yet? Still having lot of problems with my dom gt's, hard times getting these stable @ 2133 CL9, even 1866 CL7 needs +1,75v..

I hope this will be fixed in future bios updates..

had the GTX2 working on the Dlx board at 2133Mhz but with 7-8-7-24 1T TRFC 88 1.72Vdimm.

On the Sabretooth and the pro it doesn't even want to do one loop of SuperpiPi 2M lol... (haven't tried the latest 1305 though)

Ok, so I have a weird issue. I am stable at 5Ghz at 1.44v vcore, tested on Intel Burn test and 1 hour OCCT. I have LLC set to extreme and the voltage does not drop under heavy load for example with OCCT, however, if I run DVDFab, the vcore drops to 1.42v and then BSOD with an error of 124, so more voltage right? I know it's not stable at 1.42v, but as I stated before, it's set at 1.44v and on everything else it doesn't drop in voltage, just when I run DVDFab. I could up the voltage to compensate for this, but it seems to be an odd issue and I hate run the extra voltage just for one program. Any reason it would drop during DVDFab and not under a stress program like OCCT?

It's due to LLC. It only applies the voltage to heavy loads, when you run a "light load" (1 thread linx for example) it doesn't apply voltage but the frequency goes up. Therefore, it causes instability. It's been discussed by Poke a few pages back. What others have done is to use an offset voltage with LLC set to regular. Or, you can simply use a higher vcore to compensate.

Damn, was afraid it would be something like that. Well, I have the weekend to mess with it. I may try the offset method and hope that will stabilize it. Thanks for the quick reply.

    BIOS downgrade

    Hello,

does anyone know how to downgrade from BIOS 1305?

EZ Flash and Bupdater refuse to do so - EZ Flash states the message :
    "image outdated ".

Any workaround ? Before I ve been using AFUDOS engineering version for some time , but now...

    Thanks for the inputs !!!!
