You mean the 'fatality' model ??, I have ordered the Extreme6 over here in the land of OZ but its not available till the 7th Feb but @ $216 its a real bargain but the 'fat' is selling for ~ $280AU which is a huge rip but its available now

The problem with the fat version (apart from price) is that I would have to punch my pooter every time 'that face' pops up in the UEFI menu
lots and lots of cores and lots and lots of tuners,HTPC's boards,cases,HDD's,vga's,DDR1&2&3 etc etc all powered by Corsair PSU's

Are you guys able to wake from sleep ok? It never successfully resumes for me on this board. I've tried messing with the UEFI settings, but no luck so far. Windows just sits at the black screen and does nothing.

I know its there, my point was 0.1MHz increases aren't necessary, 0.5MHz increments are fine, and cuts down on the massively long list.

Mine has no problem waking up at clock speed upto 4.6GHz.

But @ 4.8GHz and above, it is showing symptoms just like you describe.

From another forum, it also seems that asus board is showing the same wakeup problems at 4.8GHz and above.
Something to do with 48x (and above) multiplier.
From what I read, asus support is contacting intel to resolve this issue.

These kinds of quirks are to be expected with something as new as SB. Just a matter of refinement before things like this get ironed out, I wouldn't worry about it.

    As some of you may of already read intel have issued a statement saying they have halted production on P67 due to a bug thats only fixable with a sillicone revision. After reading up on the specific issue, cutting out all the crap and reading between the lines of what intel are saying here is what the situation most likely boils down to;

It seems likely there was a faulty wafer at the beginning of production of P67 (first 100,000 - 500,000 lets say), hence the bug being reported by intels customers. As a result intel are issuing a recall and chipset revision as a safety precaution, theres no guarantee any consumers will see this problem and at present there doesn't appear to be any "out in the wild" evidence to substanciate anything.

By intels own words even if this problem has managed to leak into the consumer chipsets failure rates could be anywhere between 0-15%. The bug only affects SATA2 ports and steps are being taken by manufacturers in the event some consumers do get affected. New revisions of P67 should be available in quantity by mid March. In the meantime if you concerned about possibly being affected by this issue, sit tight and use your SATA3 ports.

Ohh ok so that's probably why I can't wake. I'm running at 4.9GHz, so I guess I'm hit with the same issue.

Extreme4 Double post on BIOS 1.43A and 1.50.

Didn't have the issue with 1.30 and 1.40.

    Anybody else has the problem?

Dualboot i related to spread spectrum settings:

    - Spread Spectrum enabled, BCLK is set at 99.8 MHz, no dualboot
    - Spread Spectrum off, BCLK is set at 100 MHz, but is dualboot occurs.

I personally choose BCLK at 100MHz

That Asrock statement is written in piss-poor English. On a side note, it may not help in the slightest but it may be worth replacing the TIM used on the PCH heatsink and replace the pushpins with screws and nuts. At least that way thermal efficiency will be at maximum and help keep the chipset as cool as possible, thus potentially helping to preserve the sillicone.

On a more happy note I got my i5 2500k today HAven't had much chance to play with anything yet but shes booted @ 4.6GHz with 1.36v. Fairly good but can do better. Has anybody else noticed if they change too many settings in AI Tweaker right away the system will fail to boot properly? You have to enter UEFI, load defaults, save and exit, re-enter UEFI, change a couple AI Tweaker settings, save and exit, re-enter UEFI THEN change all the settings in AI Tweaker you need to.

For me this happens with UEFI 1.1 (what the board shipped with) and UEFI 1.4. Its a huge pain in the arse. I'll probably try 1.43A, then maybe 1.5. It stinks compared to 1.43A though.

    Anybody noticed these issues with the Extreme4;

    - Pressing [Del] key to enter UEFI setup does not consistently work
    - Saved profiles are not preserved when battery / power cord is removed
    - Devices connected to SATA3_M1 & SATA3_M2 ports do not show up in UEFI setup
    - ODT WR / NOM (channel A&B) do not show current parameters in UEFI
    - Connecting a device to rear USB3.0 ports causes a prompt BSOD (BSOD squarely points at Etrontech driver, tried both 0.89 and 0.91 drivers)

You need to make the Marvell controller bootable (I think it's under Storage Configuration) before the devices show up. Haven't tested out the other items though.

The controller I have set to be bootable, devices just don't show up and if you have devices connected to both of those ports the devices "swap" positions on most reboots and one or the other device won't show up in Windows "Computer".

ED - On a happier note though I've just tried clocking my PC12800 Ripjaws and on the Extreme4 they PWN! So far I have them booting @ 2154MHz with 9-10-9-25 timings @ 1.6v. AIDA64 reports 24GB/s read, 23.4GB/s write, 25.7GB/s copy, and 37.8ns latency... Bonkers.

(thats a OC of 554MHz for those too lazy to work it out )

Just run a quick test after trying to figure out why my Extreme4 won't preserve saved settings and fail to boot if too many settings in AI Tweaker are changed at once, and this is what AIDA gave me. If the damn UEFI wasn't so friggin flaky I'd try refining things more but atm I really don't want to try that until Asrock sort the UEFI out.

What UEFI are you using? I'd recommend trying 1.2C, 1.3, and 1.43A. I would not recommend using 1.4 or 1.5, they were extremely flaky for me.

    That's my settings H24.

VTT is upped because I got memory on 2133 (nice GSkill ECO 12800 )
I hit a wall at 5400 whatever I do (cpu voltage, lower cpu pll voltage, Speedstep off, C1/C3 off, no HT ...)
    I can bot 54X100 with 1.55v, 1.6v bench stable but if I try 54.101 no go !
The same with the OS tool AXTU, if I crank 100.1, it freezes

I'm currently using UEFI version 1.50.

It seems that if 'spread spectrum' is enabled, the BCLK is lock to 100.
Changing the value to other then 100 will cause boot failure.
