I like the idea of having a "director" that has several other jobs, and does not know shift about the company he works at....
Part time is for board members, not for directors, perhaps Paul S. Otellini should read basics of business if he considers this a good idea.

"Following the bandwagon of digital tech companies hiring celebrities as 'directors' of product lines, nVidia announced tuesday they would pursue comedian Steven Wright to be their newest director of advertising, stating simply: "Products are marketed with one liners. This man is the king of them".

Steven Wright made the following statement: "I was a peripheral visionary. I could see the future, but only way off to the side."

nVidia stock rose 314% the following day.

but at least its a product aimed at people who listen to music by a musician ... totally the oposite of what we are discusing here

I lol'ed hard I didn't think Intel has employees high enough in the rank that are stupid enough to hire such a guy. It just doesn't make any sense at all. Sounds more like a lost bet or an April's fool prank...

Nike chose Kobe, and they just used his name.

Now with Intel hiring Will.I.Am - not even a high school graduate - as the DIRECTOR of creative innovation. What's he gonna do, make a rap out of Intel?

Thats exactly what I dont get or like about this. If it is a genuine job offer, as I said on the first page just about anyone that uses a tech forum is more qualified for this job than he is.

But it does look purely like a publicity stunt. Musicians usually dont care about doing stupid things for publicity, and Intel seem to be taking advantage of that.

    trans am.... dude, WTF?!?

of all the people blasting the black eyed peas, how many of you actually make music? how many of you know that will.i.am is actually a producer/dj... not really a singer. at all. just watch him struggle at the live shows.... TBH, having someone with a lot of music production experiance might be a good thing for certian products, he will certianly bring a creative flair that most people wearing white lab coats don't have. though... now that i think about it... it would probably have been better if apple had hired will.i.am to replace steve jobs...

I am an artist (EDM producer/DJ), pls check out mah stuff.
