The speeds are crazy. Not out for a while yet though.

But what i want to know is, how can these drives be put in RAID on this board with 6Gb/s? i know it has two 6Gb/s SATA connectors but if i remember there was something about them that impacted performance? So i ended up using the intel controller for RAID with my current SSD's.

What other ways are there to RAID at 6Gb/s on this board? a PCE-E RAID controller?
Well id use the ich10 controller anyways as its the fastest atm, unless yes you have a RAID card.. IIRC only 6gb ssd out is the current c300 atm.. When the c400's / g3 hit then i believe we'll be seeing more of sata III

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

The sandforce based SSD's look to be even faster than the C400 and G3. So i really dont want to use an SATA 3GB/s controller, it would seriously cripple it. And being as Intel are not releasing a high end 6/8 core Sandy Bridge CPU for ages yet i'll be sticking with this board and my 980X for some time... this is why i'm looking for a way to get 6Gb/s for a pair of RAID sandforce SSD's when they come out

Well for current hardware the ICH10 is the best performer atm, When more 6gbs ssd's hit the market im sure we will see some great performers coming from SF-2000.. Im planning on hitting up 2x OCZ vertex 3 pro ssds... 500 read/write in r0 would be sweeeeeettt

On this one, i can't run my Mushkin Redlines 998691 with Default Setting 6-7-6-18. Not on 1.66v and not on 1.68v. On every Boot says the BIOS. "Recovery lost ram..."

With BIOS F7 i can run the Mushkin with this Default-Settings.

I think not! It covers the first memory slot. But I put the airflow anyway ^^

Read so many pages of this thread and couldn't find my answer, is v2 better for overclocking or is v1 ?

EDIT: Is it normal while posting that it doesn't show the CPU info only the memory frequency ??

EDIT 2: Thought I would share my Northbridge 1/2" mod

ud9 is a complete different motherboard , twice as much as has twice as many PCIE slots.. I wouldnt call it better in terms of overclocking.. As for the rev 1 has 24 phase power, rev 2 has 16, i dont know if the 16 is more powerful, but it does seem to be a diffrent design, and that is why they thought the rev 2.0 should only have 16. The ud5 rev 2.0 has the same 16, and aside from the heatsink not being a water block they are the same boards, both rev 2.0s.

rev2 is same as rev1 for std cooling but on LN2 it is a bit better than rev1 and about the same as UD9 . The PWM is a bit better for very high loads with a 980X and high volts. Yes the new 16phase is a bit more powerful for LN2 benching than old 24phase as each mosfet is rated higher and they are more efficient in delivering power

I was having some issues so purchased a new motherboard. I do understand it would most probably only be beneficial with LN2.

On Air/water both boards would give you the same performance, I wouldnt bother..

    Hi there...
I need to put a question to UD7 users. I have a X58A-UD5 rev 1 ... do you think upgrading to UD7 rev 1 is a worth upgrade overclock wise ... or ... it won't have huge gains with the 24 phases... ?
Oh...your ass is grass and I've got the weed-whacker.

i think it woudl be worth the upgrade if somthing is limiting your chip, if you aren't going for 4.8ghz+ then don't bother.
