Maybe "Phenom FX" is what they're calling all of their Zambezi chips?
kind of like Athlon -> Athlon XP -> Athlon 64

No, there was just mixups as AMD changed codenames around before launch. 6k was SI, but it is NI. Clear?

Actually, they were going to have a 32nm and a 28nm node. Then they dropped 32nm.
32nm and 28nm were never coming at the same time, 32 was planned to come in 2010, 28nm (atleast in all roadmaps i have seen) was planned to 2011.

They cancelled 32nm a long time ago to try and get 28nm working for late 2010, now it's pushed back to 2011

28nm by TSMC will be ready in 2011, which was my original point.

    Unhappy

Just finished listening to AMD's conference call and they said that BD is on track for a early summer release.
That translates to around 4-5 months away.

    Sampling now in volume.
So, that is Orochi for desktop in early summer, and Orochi for server @ late summer.

So we can expect BD in June. Lame.
As quoted by LowRun......"So, we are one week past AMD's worst case scenario for BD's availability but they don't feel like communicating about the delay, I suppose AMD must be removed from the reliable sources list for AMD's products launch dates"

All AMD ever said was Q2, that could be anywhere from beginning of april to late June. The leaked slides and rumor mill showed initial production in April, which I took to be likely an early June launch probably at computex which occurs around that time.

i wish amd would share more light on there hardware..

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

    Hmm, are you volunteering?
If that is the case, can you also look into if all the 9xx series of chipsets will support IOMMU ?

Bulldozer schedules are exactly the same, no change. Q2 for client, Q3 for server.

Just what I guessed. In case of AMD no surprises, when talking about Q1-4, it is always at the very end of what ever quarter they say it will be.

Even the leaked (or faked) slides in the first post in this thread says initial production in april, which points at a launch in june. And depending on yields it might be a paperlaunch.
I too say early june, with my guess at the 2nd of june.

Hey fella after your: "Yea i can see a 1000$ dollar cpu competing with $300 SB.Amd just suck.Period.They are uncapable of making a capable chip, thats why we have to deal with prices at intel's mercy. So sad ...." comment we get it. We understand. You don't like AMD. Do you really need to keep trolling AMD posts at this point?

AMD will not disappear overnight, no need to overreact... Bulldozer looks promising, so let's wait for it to be benched.
