After monitoring for a couple of days I have saved a log file to pull off some stats.
First off I establish the top 10 read data xfer sizes. The chart on the left includes all data xfer events (cache and physical). The chart on the right only includes data xfer events that occurred on the physical device.
The top figures on the x axis are bytes. On the left chart there were 24,877 occurrences of 40 byte data xfers. 16,977 occurrences of 2,187 byte data xfers etc.

Some points of clarification. No Page file. Superfetch/prefetch disabled. Cacheman 7 running with auto optimised profile set to maximum performance.
