SandyBridge breaks 5.6 GHZ and does benches a bit below...

Hey,

we have had rumors, reviews, availability announcements and everything about SandyBridge here, but not yet the current standings of clockspeeds. So here we go now 1 day after official release we see near 5.6 GHZ on that chip benching

And there we have 5600 MHZ by Clunk cpuz valid - great job dude!!!



I am a bit behind with currently 5595 MHZ but 2 cores

I simply like SandyBridge for everything it can do - close to 13s pifast is insane as well as the 1m times you get out of it easy. I am pretty sure there is some more potential that can be unlocked. as we all know "internal pll overvoltage" was the only thing holding us back at the very beginning. I am pretty wondering that not a single mfc has checked what voltages are actually applied and if higher ones can get us even further - we need more infos about that function and how to use it properly, I am sure I have some more room on my chip to go for sub 13s pifast

If you are lucky and brave 5.550 MHZ CPUz on air should be possible

i think intel never really invested with temp monitoring after celerons....

remember celerons could read temps past-80c....

since clarkdales the temp sensors didn't scale past -10c...

it is with the version you posted to me screenshot a bit later - just shut down my rig.

yeah temp reading is a disregarded point below zero.

Hah, even that would be a dream with Intel DTS.
Most pre-Nehalem CPU DTS sensors are unusable below 50c. Here's a nice table about DTS precision and some other facts: http://www.hwinfo.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=97
That board should have other sensors as well, so HWiNFO32 might display them + some additional interesting values

Sof 1/1 seems to push the chips a bit extra MHZ but are the benches better with 1/1 ? i wouldnt think so though?
