I actually just received my W3570 3846A803 today so have to decide now which chip to keep

Keep both chip!!

I think 3846Axxx batch is magical chip.
The first, not to set high VTT V when you start OCing.
If you set high VTT V, perhaps the chip will very high temp.

Many of 3846Axx batch chip do not like high VTT V.
