WCG/BOINC Milestones

Call me stupid, but I don't undertsand why WCG and BOINC tally the points differently. Are they different projects or work units?

WCG points system was around longer than bionic so they didn't want to change so they kept WCG points. 1 boinc point = 7 WCG points.

Sorry SB! Transplants from F@H have been spoiled by hourly updates and the update page "Gold Standard," @ EOC which updates every 3 hours. It tells you everything you need to know at a glance. WCG/Boinc make you work way too hard.

BOINC usually updates stats four times daily. WCG updates individual stats twice a day, and team stats once a day. I don't have time to post all the updates because of my work schedule. I usually post one BOINC update in the morning and one WCG update in the evening after I get home from the work.

You can always check your personal BOINC stats by going to the Projects tab on the BOINC Manager.

Heck took me over a year to get a million in 2007-2009 then I gave up that way with gawd knows what, I just restarted in september 29th and I got 2.5 mill LOL once the arima is online that's gonna jump quite a bit more

QFT! Man, How about R@H days? When the DC A64's came out for S939!!!! OC'd they would do like 5500 WCG points a day or so... and they were EXPENSIVE I think a 3800+ x2 was almost $300 those were AMd's glory days for sure. Crazy that Current PC's can do 10x the work a Single Core A64... It doesn't seem that long ago..

Ummm... I may not know what it was like on WCG back in the day. I do remember when I started with F@H 11-20-05. Anyone putting up 600-800 ppd was god-like. 1000 ppd seemed unreachable. With the advent SMPs with dual and quad cores, there was a new points standard. It's kinda like what the Fed is doing with QE 2. By pumping 600 billion more dollars into the system, our currency is worth 20% less. I'm not sure how much QE 1 devalued our currency. It's a lot like today's devalued-inflated F@H and WCG points though.

Ummm... I may not know what it was like on WCG back in the day. I do remember when I started with F@H 9/1/08. Anyone putting up 600-800 ppd was god-like. 1000 ppd seemed unreachable. With the advent SMPs with dual and quad cores, there was a new points standard. It's kinda like what the Fed is doing with QE 2. I would disagree with the analogy as todays machines get credited the same as the old ones.
IE:My 2005 dual single core Netburst based dual 3600/2mb/800 xeon got 7500PPD.
Todays top dualie, a SR2 at say 4200 will get app 105-110,000PPD but it really is doing 15 times the work of the old dualie so the "currency" hasn't been devalued..
