Arkuatika: i rather suggest fine tuning manufacturing to get more reasonable pricing, just like info about removing nano-coating/nano-roughing(?) from process as bringing little gain/big price increase, also maybe something to do with replacing aluminium (at least that rised big protests from many in community) and fine-tuning optimal airflow resistance (FPI)/cooling. Last one might call for many prototypes, as it probably is harder to calculate just on paper-only something much different then common rad design without lot of actual tests .. time will tell. I still have my guesses about slight but win over all the other rads, but unreasonably high price because of uncommon design (common rad design was born/fine tuned for many many decades, if different designs were not used, there must be a reason (probably price)).

the funny part is our current rads was pulled off heatercore designs from pHD car designers and physics to fit inside cars.
These heater cores evolved to be longer, or wider, and came with shrouds.
Now feser thinks they have a crack pot team of scientists greater then the ones car manufactorers ... its all points to them.
(although i doubt it...)
What im waiting for is someoen to bust out a ferarri or lambo radiator and pwn all of us with the most expensive rad in there system.

You, NaeKuh, and specially you, should take in mind that you can't compare two rads built for 2 totally different scenarios. I think you will agree with me that the only similarity between a LC rad and a car rad will be that...huh...they are radiators. Specially in high-end cars where weight/performance is the only thing that matters, there is nothing to compare.
And, just another thing: if you ask for fairness in the EK thread you should do the same and give the benefit of the doubt to Feser, wether you personally like the product/company or not. But bashing a product that hasn't been reviewed...lets follow the tradition and allow Skinne/Vapor to play with their toysThen, if necessary, you take the petrol and I bring a lighter

your right without any testing and proof one can't make a blanket statement.
But lets think about it in this aspect.
When radiators were first made, the MCR series in particular, Bill Adams of Swiftech... which later on moved to start his own company cooling works, did an extensive test on radiators on procooling.
The facts we shout out is not warranted without many hours of tests done by people of martin's calibur.
Bill Adams was the guy we were all trying to make martin become.
So trying to cross tests with such legends as bill adams is very difficult.
And lastly.. it hasnt been the first time for feser to exaggerate any claims.

@prava - Agreed, we know little about this radiator yet. I for one am hoping for something incredible and will hold any criticism until I see test data from a qualified test. I don't know why you say someone deserves something though. The fact of the matter is that it's all speculation until the claims are validated by independent test regardless of any deserving.
@Naekuh - The argument that a better solution to this problem cannot be found because a similar problem has, according to you, has been studied to exhaustion is asinine. If you know anything about engineering, then you know that there are more constraints on the design process than just performance, and everything can be done 'better'. Also, beware of your blind faith in people with pHDs.
I do wish they'd hurry the hell up... (if it does turn out bad, can I come to the bonfire)

upgrading...
My point is, that 'bad' can be turned out in several ways, including price. Not just effectiveness wise or bad optimisation with low speed fans wise or aluminium in waterpath wise but also price wise. I'm too lazy to browse all pages back in this thread, but IIRC at one point somewhere was mentioned something like $90 for 1x120 (for those less lazy then me, something around the middle where people started arguing with first specs/description appearing up, with how expensive it would be to test/cut-up rad to prove/disprove claims about aluminium usage in rad). Compare $90 1x120 to $70 for MCR 4x120? or $85 for RX 3x120? 100$ for TC PA 3x120? $92 for EK XT 4x120? (quick lookup @sidewinder) If such pricing proves to be true after real release only saving grace can be exclusivity, as in - THE best performance (+extra bling-ish looks which could already be seen in first pics). Exclusivity niche from already small niche of liquid cooling will probably result in small volumes of rads sold though (which will mean higher manufacturing price premium).
Guys, I just stumbled across this.

But really, it's 90% about cooling performance which we still know nothing about, and only then 10% bling which was expected/known since long ago
