you're using an old version of gpu-z. update it and it'll show it correctly.

    Code:
Manufacturer	Cards	Unlocks and	Unlocks but Does not unlock
    		tested	works fine	rendering errors
    AMD 1	1 0 0
    HIS 3	3 0 0
    ASUS 1	1 0 0
    PowerColor	1	1 0 0
seems like a high success rate

btw: does it only unlock the shaders or the texture units as well?

Below is 6950 flashed to 6970 running at the default 6970 stock speeds 880/1375

Below is the 6950 overclocked to 900/1350

The extra shaders are clearly working

    Does it perform the same?

Does it perform as well as a 6970 after the unlock?

I think there maybe something more to this unlock or maybe my drivers got corrupted but I'm getting artifacts with supersampling aa in nfs-hp, but I'm sure it worked fine just after the flash. I turn aa off and it's fine. heaven and 3dmark11 run fine so I'm confused now.

Anyone run some games on high settings for a few hours and post back?? Wanna get some more info before i take the plunge..

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

I have been running lots of benchmarks and so far nothing weird other than temps. The fan profile seems to be a bit strange as temps were maxing in the 70's prior to unlock and now they get to upper 80's. As well I heard the fan kick it up a notch for the first time and it takes its time to cool it back down to idle levels. ATI CCC manual fan control will not work with the updated bios/unlock.

Good to hear, Some guy on guru3d has reported no increase even though its a bump up in shaders.. I really wanna see flashed 6950s run CF, so i can compare them to a Non-Flashed 6970 CF..

    does afterburner work?

or how but the old school way where you can edit the driver and create profiles for fan speeds?

I can now confirm fan control is working with Afterburner 2.1.0 Beta 5, there is no voltage control.
