For example my 2200 C8 do 1600 6-6-6-18 @ 1.60v and nothing less. Pretty much leaves 2000 C8 and 1600 C6 behind.

IMO 2000 C8 are a different series so they probably arent binned. Speed/Project X were probably a set of chips set aside for binning and they just put random sets out as 2000C8.

In fact, binning or "listing" is really tight on some sticks, you might even need .01-.02v more to pull spec etc etc.

Mixing ram (different batches/models) isn't good in the long run.

Oh okay, so then I suppose I'll pass on your's and OCBal's 2200 CL8 offer
I am setting up an ultimate machine here, and would like to see if it can last untouched for at least a year abouts I will get a different benching rig eventually, but I want a solid gaming rig.

So, what ram should I be looking at then? I'd like something like 2200 CL8 or 1600 CL6 as it seems those would be pretty close in performance? Obviously the 2200 having more throughput?

Nothing on NewEgg seems to really match my criteria, besides G.Skill Pi maybe, but those seem like PSC chips? Not sure I am fond of OCZ.

Suggestions please? The main use is 24/7 use gaming, with a 4.2-4.5ghz w3520 (depending what the new loop allows) 4.2 QPI and I want the memory to match these performance levels.
