Thanks for the Metro info. Amazing you get such high FPS with your resolution.

Stalker COP - there is a demo version with benchmarking tool. It kills all cards on the MIN FPS except for the 580 so far.
Just Cause 2 - Is there a benchmark tool? There is but you need to find it online...

CoD MW or MW2 would work.

I think you need to OC your cpu some more. I bet you have so much more headroom in there until you crank in something crazy like 16xAA!

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

Well. Couldn't get the stalker benchmark to run with any AA. Just kept saying cards don't meet the minimum specs. But it would run without AA. So here is what I got.

2560x1440, enhanced full dynamic lighting dx11, hbao to high and tessellation enabled.

    -20% power

When AA failes, MLAA comes to save the day.

UGH I had -20% power on for those. I keep forgetting. I will rerun them later.

Seems AA is free on these cards lol..

    2560x1440 NO AA

    2560x1440 16xQ AA

    Only lost 3FPS

Nice roadhog, TRI 580s are hitting only 50k GPU score but thats with a nice hefty overclock of 910 core, Im sure if you threw these under a loop you would close or get ahead quite easily!!

Here is the bench with 0% power setting lol.

The min FPS on the Day bench is odd. First run it was 21, then 2nd it was 41. It varies too much. I didn't feel like running it a third time lol.

So, here is my temporary cooling solution until I can get water cooling.

If you look closely, you can see the high tech zip tie spacers in between the cards to cure flaccid card syndrome.

For resolution over 1080p, for exemple 2560X1600, 6970 Crossfire or Tri-Fire will get ahead of 580 SLi or Tri-SLi with next gen graphic intensives games.
It's already ahead in some of the most graphic intense games out today!

    And this with early drivers!

Sadly, for lower resolution, the 580/570 SLI are better choices for now...
We will see after a couple of new drivers from AMD if it stays like this at lower resolutions..
But for 30'' LCD and higher resolutions, a 6970 Crossfire/Tri set-up is a better choice for the upcoming games.

For 2560X1600 or multiple screen set-up, then the 6970 Crossfire/Tri-Fire will get ahead with upcoming drivers. The 2Gb of memory WILL make a difference.

It's really impressive. For 300$ less (2X140-150$), at 2560X1600, a 6970 Crossfire is on par, and often BETTER today then 580 SLI. Impressive...

And I don't care for 1980X1200 and lower resolutions. Top of the line cards are for 2560X1600 with high AA levels, and/or multiple screens set-up.
And there, the 580 SLi set-up is a joke for the price right now. IMHO.
Why 'sadly'? and having both giant screens and regualr 1080p screens in 3x configurations at the same moment running i can tell you that the 1080p
screens 580 sli is not a joke and can pull 120fps in games like f1 w/ all options on, that means wi a 120Hz refresh you can use all of that power in this typical resolution.

Same with metro, please explain any other confuguration that can hit 120fps w/ all options turned on in metro on these "i dont care for" resolutions you speak of?
Right now 2 gtx 580's can beat 3 6970's in heaven, yea they are overclocked but guess what? due to the design you can't overclock 6970's in 3x crossfire brick mode due to the shell overheat issue.

Please take your 2560x1600 cad monitor - yea thats what they are for - and enjoy your weak azz 59Hz refresh rates with optinos turned way down.

Nice CPU waterblock you need this to match [shameless plug]

Joke aside, I had two of these on the bench and set the fans at 100% just to try. Say again? Sorry I couldn't hear you.. Reminds me of the days of the MC2000 with 4 x 33cfm 60mm Delta's. Now 3 of these at 100% fan speed.. 2012!

Maybe if they were released I would have a few of those.

Yeah, if I put them on 100% fan speed I can hear them outside my house a fair distance away. Good thing they never go near 100% on load though.
