Could I push this to 4.5??

mel is that 1,3 for 4000 stable ? you will need to try some volts as NoGuru said

    Sergio,

Thanks, I just decided to leave it @ 4G. Using it for folding, so @ just 1.3v it runs cool.

hey guys, another slight problem here! i'm 20 loops linx stable at the following:
    4.365Ghz @ 1.36250 (bios) - cpuz reads - idle 1.352v - load 1.368v
    RAM - 970Mhz 1:1 2.1v (stock volts as they're 1066's)
    vNB - 1.34v
    VTT - 1.32v
    LLC on
    all spectrums off
    0.660 gtl refs 0-4
    cpu pll - 1.54v
this is on a p5q deluxe with 2301 bios

it's stable running linx for 20 loops and only hits 76c as it's liquid cooled, but all games are juddering badly like lag on an online game. ive had this before, but a 4ghz/4.1Ghz,
now i'm pretty much overclocking to the chips limits it's getting harder to know what to increase voltage wise.

the northbridge has got the stock heatsink with a 120mm fan blowing over it about 20 cm away on the case panel.

    any suggestions?

    thanks

That is about max for the board. If it's stuttering I would turn the OC down a little.

    gutted!!!

i know all the other max OC's with the quads are all on gigys ud5/6, but i really wanted to crack 4.4Ghz - was my ultimate goal!

    why does it stutter then?

is there nothing i could increase to get 4.365Ghz stable? my vNB was only at 1.34v and the cpu PLL at 1.56v, the vtt was low too.

it passed all linx tests and pumped out more gflops than i've ever got.

As long as you have good air flow crank the NB volts up a bit they will help you a lot.

i've got a 120mm fan on the case side panel blowing over the mobo and NB, when i bench and do linx/prime/game i crank up the fan speeds so theres quite a bit of air flowing onto the NB - i'll try 1.4v. safe for 24/7?

I think it is safe as long as the temps are good.

Hi all, I'm thinking about buying a GA-EP45-UD3P.
(I have a Q9650 no o/c, I'm going to start with my X38ds5 but it's going to suxx I think...)

Anyway, I would like to know if there is a better rev on this motherboard ? (rev1 to 1.6)

    Thanks

Honestly rev 1.0 was the best but, you could buy an ep45T-usb3p do 530fsb on ddr3 ram. Giving you better bandwidth.

Hey guys, possibly found a great Q9650.

Batch # L828A446 and VID 1.1375. Seller said he got it to 4.2 at 1.25 on water.

any eshop from EU which has stock? , due to having already purchased the ram for sandybridge upgrade.. (canceled the rest..) i want to try my Q9650 with a P45 DDR3 board.
    EP45T-USB3P or EP45T-UD3P wanted

I think they pull about $200-$250.

Knowing your chip I think you can still get close to $250 for yours.

Depends on the batch and oc ability. Start at $200 and go north if its really good chip.

Quick PK1 application and first boot with new Q9650. Bios Voltage - 1.4V, Termination 1.36V. Runs super hot even under my HD-D14 with two 150cfm Deltas

    Batch # L828A446 - same as andressergio and nkreshno Q9650, I believe.

I have nkresho's old chip and it is a L847C batch, so not quite the same one as you however you have a lower VID, mine is 1.15.

nvm, I got your (nkreshno) chip confused since I looked up that batch number very recently.

Speaking of CPU PLL voltage, it doesn't really do much for stability but going high, 1.65V doesn't hurt, right?

Finally got 4.5Ghz with 8Gb of Tridents chugging away @ 1200Mhz. Can run Prime 95 blend (128k - 4048k fft) all day with 6.8Gb of ram but small fft keeps freezing up on me. Amazing chip, only need 1.4V BIOS for 4.5Ghz so far.

I am thinking I should push CCPU Clock Drive to 900mv in ACC, because currently its 800mv.

You might want to raise your vtt up a notch, the 1.32 vtt setting doesnt work right its really the same voltage as the 1.30 setting.

Already tried that, Priming with 900mV drive strength at 1.39375 Vcore, 1.32 vtt. If 1.32 vtt doesn't work then what does 1.34vtt set the voltage to, 1.32V actual?

Sorta yea, the voltages 1.30 and lower generally have a slight overvolt and 1.34+ start undervolting some. 1.30 is really like 1.31 and 1.34 is like 1.33. And as for the drive strengths I never saw them make a difference in stability so I kept them at default 800/900, unless benching.
