huum, yes but 2fps difference ? seriously, you make it run 3 times and you will get 3 times +- 2fps average difference ... or the 6970 improvement don't work well on this game.

I agree, why starting thread with "in progress", instead of waiting for some real reviews.
This way at least there wont be any need to speculate about the drivers.
EDIT
Plus the links this thread started with were already posted in "AMD Cayman info (or rumor)" thread,
probably for good reason.

3.56 here too. Obviously I won't stay awake.
Let's call the right way. You posting rumors from the rumor thread. I doubt right now anybody cares about the rumors and users benchmark should come from members at this forum.
As I said the main reason for waiting for the real reviews is to end the speculation about the drivers. Which keeps going on same as in the rumor thread, no need for that.
Right now this thread is about as good as if somebody started a new thread about reviews with this:

$370 for 6970
$300 for 6950
Awesome. Those 6950's look like a potential 5850 repeat scenario
This industry sucks. Too many brainwashed consumers and fanboys all over the place. What happened to the 4800 series generation pricing? You know, $300 for a new 4870 and $200 for the 4850. Looks like the 6970 is going to be just under $400 and almost the same as the 5870 release pricing. This sucks. Too much for hardware that changes faster than the average punk gamer changes his underwear. I know, it's less than the 580 GTX, but Nvida likes to rip off the "intelligent" who buy this stuff.
I'm sure a ton of zombies will claim that this is great pricing. Nvida has been ripping off the foolish for years and now AMD decided to join them. We need some more competition. This crap is way overpriced and yes I can afford to buy all of them if I wanted. I want lower prices. Luckily, as the global economy falls on it's face over the next few years and millions join the ranks of unemployed, no one will be buying this crap unless they can convert it to food or firewood. Bye...bye Nvidia and Amd. I guess you can focus on military applications.

TANDY PC
Intel 486 SX 25
4 MB RAM
Trident 512K SVGA
120 MB Seagate HD
14 Inch CTX CRT Monitor
14.4K Modem (too slow for :banana::banana::banana:)
Radio Shack 2.0 Speakers (6V Battery Operated)
OS: MS DOS 6.2
Games: X-wing, Wing Commander, Veil of Darkness, Kings Quest, Zork
The 6800 series fill that 4800 role nicely. You can get very good performance at $180-240.
So, now that we have the full 6 series released, can somebody make a list of AMD cards in ascending order according to performance?
For reference, consider this:
4850 -> 4870 -> 5770 -> 4890 -> 5850 -> 5870.
How does the HD 58xx series perform in comparison with the HD 68xx and 69xx? (Disregard dual-card products like the 5970).
I seriously got lost ever since they released the HD68xx series.
