Try the latest beta bios, it says improved SSD compatiblity. I have almost the exact same setup as you and I didn't have this problem. What is your frist boot device upon reboot? you need to change it to the SSD instead of the dvdrom drive, boot order is under advanced boot options.

Hey sin0822, these UD5 Rev 2's support 32nm hexcores just fine right? I may be picking up a 970 soon and need it to drop in and go immediately. I've got the latest BIOS and should be good to go, but just need some assurance.

Yes the first boot device is the SSD after the inital install.

I only use this as a boot drive so I dont have another one to try.

But what you should do is post your template, off the second post in the thread, post yours just like that and we can help you. EDIT: actually here you go: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?...thkey=CK2ot_MM Take a look it took me a few hours to put it togther b/c there was an old spreadsheet with just UD7 rev 1.0 and i had to put them in there by hand, every one, that thread will show all components used down to PSU.

BTW yea i know this is the only place for rev 2 of these boards and its kinda sad, but the thing is they are amazing boards best built in town and they OC very well. I also run the UD5/UD7 thread over at OCN, but its for both revisions and not many people have the second revision yet, its only been out 2-3 months. http://www.overclock.net/intel-mothe...a-ud5-ud7.html . I would rather you post here, i can get back to you quicker. BTW in the database i made sure people put down what revision of what board they used.
Hi sin0822, sorry it has taken a while for me to reply.
Thanks for your suggestion's, and I have been fiddling with some settings, currently 4212Mhz 26 x 162 (with Turbo), vcore 1.40625, (shows @ 1.3965 in CPUz, with level 2 LLC) qpi/vtt 1.335, reluctant to go too much higher with vcore, but I still get random 101 BSOD's. Have tried a few settings from the spreadsheet, but without any luck, want to flash bios from FB to the latest FC7 beta, and start again.

More suggestions will be very welcome.

Try the GOOC bios maybe it might offer more stability even though its a modded version of FB.

In the bios main screen hold down crtl+f1 and then go into the MIT menu>frequency control> disable spread spectrum. other than that bump qpi pll a little, and maybe try higher vcore with LLC1.

Bdos 101 is too low vcore.

lol what do you mean? yea i saw he said vcore was high enough, but he can still push it, I would recommend backing off LLC2 and goto LLC1 with higher vcore. You know whats funny that you can buy P67A boards now and I am still under NDA for em and I got mine on Monday.

What type of BCLKS are people getting with the UD5 under DICE/LN2? Once I finish my main rig and get it off my desk, I want to pick up a bench rig... I was thinking UD5 and a used 920 or something.

Ask LSDMEASAp he was doing 250s on air. i thin kti depends on the CPU but if you want highest BLCK board UD9 has a binned IOH to do very high blck without slow mode, but from what I saw with your R3E thread, just keep your R3E you got one of the best ones.

Question, I just started to build the new computer, and I have the megahalems - the motherboard seems to have a cpu backplate on it, but in order to install the cooler, I have a metal backplate for the cooler... is it going to short out if I have the metal backplate for the cooler against the metal backplate of the motherboard cpu? Not too sure what to do here.

Went ahead and used the 775 spacer on it - hopefully it doesn't do anything too bad to it... I guess I can always change it later.

It should be fine. My back plate sits up off the MOBO but I installed a Venom X at a friends house and his touched the back and it works fine.

Thank you. I'll probably take it off later today and install it then.

Heh, it's been 10 days and it's been working great. However, today whenever I try to turn it on, there's a flash of power then it turns off.

I removed everything connecting to the motherboard except for the cpu, cpu heatsink, heatsink fan, and both motherboard power connectors. (Even took all the memory out)

I disconnect the power, remove the cmos battery. After 30 seconds I push the cmos battery back in, turn the power back on. It seems to start up, but then abruptly shuts off. Then subsequent presses to the power switch on the motherboard will give me the flash of power again but never turn on.

I'm assuming the motherboard needs to be rmaed?

Just took the CPU out. Now it's only the two power cables connected to the motherboard. It seems to be doing the same thing a flash of power then it turns off. Does that mean it might be the CPU, or would the motherboard give me an error and stay on?

    Thank you for your help!

Yes, I also tried the hx620 corsair. The one I first tried was a corsair 850tx. Still the same problem.

Got my 970 in here with no problems. Put it at 160blk at only 1.3V and it's one cool SOB. I do need some help on ram suggestions.

I've got a set of Dom GT's @ 1600CAS7 but one stick took a crap on me. I'm gonna RMA them but am thinking of selling them and going for some HyperX 2kMHz set. Any suggestions?
