Well "to trade blows" is different from "beating 580". First implies being on par,while second being uniformly faster. I would expect Cayman XT to be somewhat faster than 580GTX while Pro to be somewhat faster than 570.
6950 trading blows with 580 means 6970 annihilating 580.
