    cheers
I would start with ~1.3v vcore ~1.3v vtt and ~1.64v DRAM but much will depend on how well your 950 will o.c. some of them can be pretty average. See if level one LLC works with these settings and your chip. See screenshot for more settings. Read Miahallen's guide for overclocking i7 bloomfields...

You may need to adjust/lower uncore and dram multis and maybe relax dram timings.
Ryzen 9 on the test bench... Sometimes older generation/tech as well.

Has anyone stabilized past 215blck in this board?

    I'm trying 220x21 for 4620MHz HT off.

I've tweaked every single voltage, gone up to 1.475vcore and 1.525vtt, several ioh core, qpi pll, cpu pll configurations, ram timings lowered, uncore x16 and nothing solved the issue. My temps are in the low 80s.

I get lockups, linX ending prematurely giving "finished without errors" after just 2/3 minutes, etc.

    Any help would be appreciated

Same here I just figured the chip couldent do it, will your chip pass if you lower the multi to like 19~17?

My board will do 215x21 with every voltage at std apart from vcore, vtt & vdimm.

I did a pass at 222x19 (4200 HT On) with 1.2875vcore, 1.395vtt, 1.6vdimm but i had to lower memory timmings and uncore to get it to pass linx (888 8-9-8-28-98-1T x16 uncore).

I then tried to go to 220x19 just bumping the vcore to 1.475v and HT off but it gave me those issues i mentioned above.

I'm also having the issue where i cant get my memory to 1000, independent of the timings and voltage. They are the Gskill PI 12800 CL6 and they are pretty decent ones, don't know what the problem is.

yeah but i think is CPU freq the problem im very stable on 4515 mem on CL6 or CL6 and also uncore x17 but wont do 220 unless i pump volts and also got lockups

so far uncore x17 and CL7 at 1,66vdimm its the best 24/7

    4515 uncore x16 1720 6-6-6-19

Just a note on bandwidth for those that are interested, If you enable EIST & C3/6/7 with the latest bios the bandwidth increases. This is on my Rev 2 & the latest FC BIOS with FB there is no increase.

Also I can run x18 Uncore virtually for free or maybe 1 more bump in vtt which ramps up the bandwidth quite a bit

Edit... these are the sort of numbers we are talking about http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m...8CL8EISTOn.png & like for like I think the Giga slightly beats the DFI.

grate my friend you are still runing linx with page file off wich wont let you use ALL mem, believe me its better to do it that way enable page file to any disk and run again if you want true stability

my system is runing awesome fast with CL7 and uncore just need a bump on vtt

    keep trying

A Big THANK YOU to the real 7 for this new case , the HAF932. I believe this is the first time I have had a door on a case in a couple years, well at least most of the door. I did a little mod on it to not have to rebuild my loop. This isnt the BigBang thread but that is all but dead so thought Id post here.

Looks to me like you were doing fine, don’t forger you won’t be able to run/test all 6GB as the OS needs some. Maybe increase the problem size in settings to allow larger ram use but you may find LinX just burns up your drives running in the page/swap file instead of RAM.

setting linx to ALL will give ya 25k+ problem size as most ppl dont touch page file just install windows as it...

if you are not using it then max prob size is 24+

but its just a quote we been talking with Tony

I think your both right , but since i want my over clock to reflect highest 24 / 7 run i agree with c - n this is fine . . . its the system being pushed to max stable letting windows handle my current config , now Sergio idea is right to if you going for higher clock proven stability , my system at max will never hit that so Im happy

Hey guys look hit x 17 uncore more stable than i can hit x 16 at 4.5 passed new prime 7 hours running cool temps, just amazing like what a little vtt can do

Help, thought I'd ask here first before opening a new thread.

I'm messing about overclocking my 3870x2's & trying to find the sweet spot for the IOH Core voltage. If I set auto in BIOS I get 1.3~1.4v ish so thought I'd go check the x58 datasheet http://www.intel.com/Assets/PDF/datasheet/320838.pdf as I thought 1.1v was the default & 1.4v looks like a lot.

I think page 211 table 15-11 sheet 1 & 2 are what I'm looking for but cant find any maximum voltage or absolute maximum can anyone point me in the right direction or is there simply no maximum!!!

Yes I have had it at 1.1v nearly all the time I've had the board with 1 3870x2 but now it looks like I need a lot 1.34 ish to keep it stable with the 2 3870X2's & 1.42 once I overclock them...... Maybe im missing something.
