Heat Pipe sinks work the best, and yes i use them for all 4 cpus, one for the northbridge and two for the 4850 cores.

Quad socket boards ... four times the number of things to go wrong, but 2^4 times the WIN when they go right!

I'll send another pic of my non-ghetto setup once I get the cables dressed up. Which should be tonight...

I kinda want a real case that I can mount this board in. BUT it would also need to hold both radiators, and that may be a little on the huge (and heavy) side

by real do you mean a predefined metal box made by a company or wooden cabinet made to fit? cuz if it's the former i hear ya. but in reality the weed cabinet fits my needs perfectly, kinda like your cardboard case lol

Well wood is just extremely heavy lol. I mean a relatively normal metal case. But odds are that it will stay in the cardboard "case"

Update: So the 430w power supply may not work. Board powers up for a few seconds, then powers back down. Back on the 650w, POST just fine. What's the minimum anyone is running with one hard drive, a small video card and four CPUs? I really don't want to run a monster power supply if I don't have to. Maybe a 500? 550? Hmmm....

Success! flash rom did the job correclty!!!!
I am on the 1.0.4 ec x64 bios and i can now get into the bios set up .I enabled the extra two usb ports from the header found next to the battery coin.
I will pass the bios to the gurus at mydigitalline and let us hope the modders will get us full ACPI support.
    Bottom is:
If yours arima does not get into the bios and you experience strange bios behavior ,update bios using flashrom and start crunching.
Many greeting to Mr shoota at this point for his help.
Does anyone runns on a newer bios version out there?
    1.0.4 ec - of 3 - 3- 08 is the latest known bios.

that ram should work. but you don't need 8gb for one board unless you have a specific reason for it. i have four gb and i've never seen over 2.1gb usage

i'm pretty darn sure there is no ram-filling requirement as long as the first bank is populated

Well, it's all been ordered. And I went with the 750W corsair PSU listed in the OP. It's only $5 more expensive but it has free shipping so it ends up being the same price as the XFX I posted AND it also has a MIR so it might be a good deal for anyone in the market.

4GB ram has been ordered, as well as the heatsinks.

SCHWEET! If all goes well (fingers crossed) it should be up and running by the end of next week

95/115W TDP. Average CPU power of 75W, so in realistic terms you'll be drawing a continuous 300W from 12V and a little extra for the motherboard, hard disks, fans, etc. Corsair CX450 is capable of continuous 450W without dropping much below 80+ specs, so it'd be fine for even the higher TDP setups.

that setup with a pci card and a laptop hard drive pulls ~380W. figure in a little more powerful gpu, a desktop hard drive, extra fans and such and a 450w will start being pushed pretty hard
