Need a fan replacement for CM Hyper 212+.

The stock fan of the CM Hyper 212+ have started to have rather annoying rattling sound depending on what speed it spins at (usually 1500 ~ 1750rpm idle/load) it becomes more obvious and since I'm not using any comp case it gets rather annoying and I've planned to replace it with a better fan I'd run at constant 1600 ~ 1750 rpm instead.

So what would be a good 120mm choice for running vertically and around 1600 - 1750 rpm, 1850rpm might be ok if it's really more silent than "generic" fans spinning at 1650~1750 rpm which is what the stock CM 212+ fan pretty much is, pushes a relatively good amount of air but does so with very poor noise/performance ratio. I like the sound of blown air but hate any high pitch whining or rattling motor noise.

Since I don't own any proven good fans atm I think it would be about time to get some that I can use for future heatsinks as well.

Yea those are one of the fans I've been eyeing, I might go for the S-Flex 1900rpm (SFF21G) as I got a zalman fanmate lying around unused anyway, 1600rpm is prolly good enough for everyday use but it'll definitely feel a bit low/weak when trying to benching a bit so 1900rpm is really the minimum I'd wanna go for such use so SFF21G looks like a good choice. I've also been eyeing the Gentle Typhoon 1850rpm.

You can always lower its RPM. I would say to go with the GT AP-15 1850 version.

+1 for a gentle typhoon. i although would be careful with undervolting the GT. i have 3 GT 1850's running in my case (at various speeds) and 1 is attached to a hyper 212+. i dont think its the cooler fan but i get strange harmonics coming from my other undervolted fans. the harmonic comes and goes at different rpms for me so just keep that in mind. It is however an excellent fan at cooling

Well that's what worries me. I attached the zalman fanmate2 to my current crappy stock coolermaster 212 fan and at certain speed it's perfectly silent, it's only when it changes speed which is the case if using mobo PWM controlled fan speeds then it'll spin/up down all the time when there's a sudden load and then back to idle etc and the rattling will be heard (and I don't like running it at constant 2000rpm either for normal use without a comp case as it's slightly too noisy for my liking), also if I run it at slower speed around 1550 ~ 1620rpm I get a faint high pitched whine which will go away when approaching 1650~1700rpm so there it's more silent and where I keep it for normal use so I might just stick to this fan a little longer but I'll keep those fans in mind when there's a need to buy one, the current fan has a fairly good noise/performance ratio around 1700rpm so.

Why not just buy another blademaster fan? I used 2 on my megahalems and they were great.
