So, the 5870-480-580 chart we saw earlier was the real deal? It showed 40% increase in 3dmark Vantage over GTX 480.

Sorry mate, can't really answer your question. i just got an impression from a fellow OCer in my local forum, he had received info from a reliable source (most likely someone in one of AIB distro) saying the card will be a great performer in 3DM Vantage bench.

Price will be determined mostly by market force, even if the card was overpriced, we still have to consider the supply side. A limited supply product will bear the low demand just fine, nVidia will happily accept the donation from its diehard fanbois around the globe.
