good news! i flashed the new (non beta) 890gx P2.50 bios on my 880G and it worked. no issues whatsoever (yet). i did it like peter burg did.

trying the load line callibration option on "normal" it seems it's brought the vcore down a bit in both idle and load. so at least the idle voltage is correct now. load is still +50 mV going from 1.35 V to 1.40 V.

    Fake...

You have this sticky tapes on P43DE (under it is P45DE -> force flash works fine).
But on 880G Ex3 is no sticky tape, bacause there is realy no 890GX chipset, just 880G.

Yeah, but it seems the 880G and 890GX can only be told apart from one another by the IGP. The 4250/4290 are only different in clockspeed, essentially making everything on the BIOS/software side.

So the Asrock 880G could very well be their 890GX board flashed with an 880G+4250 bios.

I also have a sticker. Now, just for fun, how do we flash a 4290 BIOS onto the IGP?

890GX board. With a sticker on, like roflwaffles.

First, cpu-z of board right now:

Forgive the crap pictures, I did this with my pc running and a trip slot GPU over the section where the board sticker was.
total legit though, give your boards a check guys. You might be the same.

You can make out the corner of the sticker, had to use a mini mag lite.

And there you go, I have a 890gx.

    Now why was this delisted?

Bad binning or for extra 880g supplies (indicating the board is fine to run as an 890gx)?

lol epic. I had a sticker on my Deluxe3 as well. Peeled it off and it said something about super speed USB.

Is it possible for us to get the full 890gx?

Not like the flashed bios but still reporting the 880g chipset, but reporting 890?

Fun and games ahead but I am green when it comes to crossflashing mainboards. :/

Strange, mine 880G has no sticker...

Could it be that Your is the real 890GX chipset?
Did You try to flash it and then see if You enable the 890GX, or it stays 880G?

Hah, I am author of article at PC Centre. You can try to flash 890GX BIOS to 880G Extreme3 and it will works fine. However, IGP frequency will still stays at 560 MHz, and all of the software shows 880G.

Some of you have wrote that you don't have stickers at your motherboard. As I suppose the sticker trick was made at beginning of the production, and newest motherboards are made with new PCB, with 880G Extreme3 caption.

as I suppose both PCBs (old and new) are the same and only printed information are different. If someone has 880G Extreme3 w/o sticker, he can compare both motherboards and check if there are any additional diferences.

I've never flashed a motherboard bios outside of windows applications.

How would I flash a 890gx non compatible bios to the board safely?

    Edit, googled my way there.

I can confirm that it still appears 880g on sticker motherboards

    Hi all!
I have Asrock 880g Extreme3 motherboard.. Few weeks ago I tried to flash 890gx3 BIOS (L2.43B) on my board, and it was successful.. I ran few tests, and it was pretty good.. But I noticed some glitches.. Sometimes, if I put eg. HT 250 in BIOS, and have UCC enabled (i have x2 550be@x4 b50), and save it, when my computer reboots, it says its x2 550be@3.1ghz, and HT isnt on 250, actually on default 200.. So, sometimes its like BIOS dont remember what I change in it.. Strange..

And yes, I have a sticker on board, so it should be 890gx3, like Jowy Atreides have.. I tried to move that sticker, but its too well glued on the board

Why do you have 1.35v on NB voltage (actually it's CPU-NB)? Default is 1.1v, and your NB is at 2ghz (default)

Hey guys, sorry for offtop, but I have problem with my Asrock 880G. I've upgraded my PC to:
    - Phenom X6 1055T
    - ASRock 880G Extreme3

When I select Auto voltage for CPU, mobo sets it at 1.375V. The Turbo voltage is 1.475V. Should I worry, that I have bought very crappy CPU. Those voltages seems to be too high for stock voltages. Are they normal?

They seem kind of high for a 1055T...

Do you think that stock CPU voltage at 880G was higher than usual? I have a feeling that this mobo bumps the voltage a bit. I cannot believe that my 1055T has stock voltage at 1.375V (The highest stock voltage EVER!)
