It has nothing to do with resurrecting a thread, it's where you are and are not allowed to sell hardware. There is a classifieds section for a reason - I believe that part the ToS you agreed to when you created your account here outlines specifically that you aren't to attempt to sell things outside of the classifieds.

I was simply warning you that attempting to sell hardware outside the classifieds can get you banned - I was trying to do you a favor. I don't really care, I'm not going to buy it.
