Associated, the FTP upload failed because the file was in use and couldn't be replaced, it's fixed now.

    Thanks.

Well, I installed this program on my step-son's PC and it was working great, then the program froze and wouldn't do anything so I used CTRL-ALT-DELETE and closed it. Now the program will only open in the taskbar and won't maximize to full screen so I can see the profiles.

Any ideas what's causing this? I've uninstalled and re-installed the program several times, deleting all files associated with RadeonPro. No progress.

Since build 1.0.8.0 the program is using a new method to detect applications in order to make possible the utilization of AA/Crossfire profiles in launcher based games.

    Please try new build.

    Thanks.

    Updates

    08/21/2010 - New build 1.0.8.4

    - Fixed: random crashes while starting programs (still testing, please bear with me :-)
    - Fixed: scripts not working on first time use when the program is configured to start minimized
    - Fixed: start parameters not being applied correctly
    - New: added Launcher settings for launcher based games

    Known issues:
    - Auto-updater may fail in some cases
    - Screenshot function not working in some games

About screenshot function, I tried Dirt 2 and it worked fine, but had a CTD in Metro 2033. I think I'm going to remove the function 'till I can get working a new implementation.

Please continue reporting if applications are still crashing.

Hi Japamd. Thumbs up for implementing negative LOD bias clamp. I'm using 1.0.8.7 version, but I'm not sure if it works. If I understood correctly, if I set custom profile and set Texture LOD control to On and Texture LOD Adjustment to 0, then negative LOD bias clamp should be activated? In other words if LOD bias is less then zero, set it to zero, otherwise don't touch it (user zero or positive bias). This option on Nvidia cards helped me a lot getting rid of shimmering effects in some games. Also, I have tried to use positive value for Texture LOD adjustment and it helps getting rid of shimmering but it makes some textures look to much blurry. Thank you in advance.

japamd : RadeonPRO is conflicting with Punkbuster. I suggest you have a button to completely turn off overlay (hiding the fps doesn't help).

Add your MP game executable to compatibility list at Settings and check Disable API detection.

PS: I'll add an option per profile to disable overlay functions.

Ah yes, I forgot that's how I made them to coexist (just reformatted my pc due to corrupt OS, I was speaking from memory)

Again, thanks for this great software

I got a feature request. Is it possible to enable monitor aspect ratio on and off for each profile? Some games I just don't mind having the aspect ratio stretched.

AFAIK, it is not a per-resolution basis settings. Scaling my resolution down and then setting gpu scaling on and then scaling it back up causes gpu scaling by aspect ratio to work at ALL non-wide resolutions.

I don't mind using D3Doverrider, but sadly the only reason I still need to keep it installed is for GoW.

I'll say this about GoW in case you didn't know, like some UT3 engine game, GoW applies a framerate cap of 62fps and obviously most LCD's monitor are 60Hz so that's obviously what creates the tearing. My framerate fluctuates between 62-63fps when I don't use RadeonPro, but as soon as I enable D3Doverrider the framerate stays locked at 60fps and the tearing is gone.

If you can find your GoW disc and don't mind checking, I would certainly appreciate it, but if you can't do it I'm still not dissapointed in your program.
Guess what? I found my GoW DVD!!! Finally!!!!!!1!!!!

I just tried the forced vsync using the latest build (1.0.10.1) and it worked fine!

Please try it and let me know if it's working or not.

Hmmm, I'm not sure how that can be done. Is monitor aspect ratio a CCC setting?

@topic, the latest updates since my last update on this topic (yeah, a long time ago :P)

    Minimum requirements:
    - Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 (some features may be unavailable or non-functioning)

    - Fixed: some profile properties cannot be unset after being set (e.g. Video Spoof, Aggressive API detection and others settings)
    - Fixed: D3D tweaks (forced vsync/triple-buffering) not working in some games. Try Aggresive API detection if it's not working. To quickly identify if it's working or not, try forcing Double vsync to see if framerate gets capped by 30 FPS (or half of vertical refresh rate).

    10/08/2010 - New build 1.0.10.0

    - Fixed: black screen with some DX9 games
    - Fixed: Age of Conan (DX10) and other DX10 games crashing at startup

    - New: current API in use is displayed on screen at game startup (can be disabled in Settings)

    09/29/2010 - New build 1.0.9.5

    - Fixed: FPS counter not respecting windowed mode and game viewport causing it to jump to other screen locations when it's set to other position than top-left
    - Fixed: STALKER CoP and other games crashing at startup
    - Changed: reverted program activation through the tray icon by using double click instead of single click
    - Changed: minor tweaks to API detection code to favor better compatibility

    09/23/2010 - New build 1.0.9.3

    - Fixed: "Error saving settings" random bug
    - Fixed: removed DirectX Runtime June 2010 dependency which caused crashes in D3D10/D3D11 games on systems without that runtime version installed, minimum requirement now is February 2010 runtime: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...displaylang=en

    - Fixed: Steam no longer crashes if RadeonPro is finished and Steam is kept running
    - Fixed: random hiccups while scrolling pages or doing non related game tasks
    - Fixed: profiles backup feature not saving launcher settings

    - New: video spoof feature is now available also on Direct3D 8/10/10.1/11 (previously was supported only on Direct3D 9)
    - New: forced triple-buffering and/or forced vsync on/off can now be used with games that don't have a profile defined (e.g. any Direct3D 8/9/10/11 application)
    - New: forced vsync on allows the activation of a new feature: Double Vsync, which limits the framerate to half of the current refresh rate (i.e. 60 Hz LCD displays will limit framerate to 30 FPS instead of 60 FPS). Works only with full-screen games, windowed games will use normal vsync

It's inside the CCC control panel if that's what you're asking. As for the XML file.. I'll look into it. Look around at the display section of CCC and right click on the triangle thing on the monitor setup. I'll give you screenshots on how to get to it over the weekend.

I don't see any option related to aspect ratio, even GPU scaling isn't being displayed.

The option to change scaling settings doesn't appear unless you're running below native res. It's an annoying change to CCC that ATi refuses to fix, insisting it's a "feature".

I just noticed this app, read through the whole thread and just wanted to chime in and say

ATI/AMD must be stupid to not hire a guy like you! (but I'm actually happy it stays as a community thing... for now at least. :p)

I've been a longtime Nvidia user now but I think I'm gonna upgrade to a HD6xxx series card when they release and seeing this app just makes me more sure about that decision. Even a nvidiot could get jealous seeing this.

I admire your work, you bring updates out so fast, you actually listen to other people's requests and you're really polite (much more so than most software developers I've seen that can be all grumpy for ppl criticizing all kind of small things). Keep up the great work and I'm sure you'll find RadeonPro to get a lot more popular and famous than you could ever have imagined!

    - Changed: Compatible List View Rendering is now active by default on new installations
    - New: add custom executables to the Anti-Aliasing and CrossfireX compatibility profiles
    - New: Driver compatibility option to allow utilization of previous Catalyst drivers DLLs (must be enabled in Settings prior to utilization, carefully read the disclaimer at Settings screen!!!)

I'm back early than expected. Still, 4 days of non-stop studying at my university

japamd , here's a howto to access the gpu scaling menu.

Here's how it looks like at native resolution.

Here's how it looks like at non-native, non-widescreen resolution.

    Thank you, blindbox.

That option is well hidden, BTW.

I'll try to discover how to enable/disable GPU scaling.

japamd , could you provide a more thorough documentation regarding Driver Compatibility? How do I make it work? Install a few drivers on top of another? The Verde skin and the original skin has some inconsistencies regarding the driver compatibility part too, such as no 'Manage My Drivers' . EDIT: I found the 'Manage My Drivers' but it's greyed.

Regarding Driver compatibility feature, take a look here, it's very well explained by a RadeonPro user

Verde skin have the Manage My Driver option in File menu, while the other skins have it inside Advanced tab. You have to select a profile to enable the link.

Just as a heads up I haven't been able to install the last two versions over the top of a previous installation -

Which version were you using before?

I think starting at builds 1.0.10.x this has been fixed.
