Nvidia better pulloff AMD like magic on this 40nm node if this 768Core monster is true, amd did it on 45nm with cpus, but they have more control over the process than nvidia...
But for the moment it looks like theyre going with a move from too big core to a terribly too big core.

As long as Cayman has good minimum frame rates, that's all I care about. Haven't bothered with 5000/GF100 cards (waiting for next gen) but from what I recall isn't Fermi much better than the 5000 series at minimum frame rates at identical resolutions/settings?

I would much, much rather have a card that runs something at 1920x1200, max details @ 50FPS average with 35FPS minimums than something that does it @ 80FPS average with 20FPS minimums.

Thus, the 6000 series...

If I understand this chart right, the performance of 512 bit 768 core is placed between GTX 480 and 470.
Something seams to be off, either the chart or the sepc.

Do any of the code names actually make sense to anybody outside of engineering, what determines whether a particular piece of silicon has an appropriate name for that matter.

yes it does make sense ... but half the memory controler memory will it not hinder the perf so much that the 5450 would be close in performance .... and price wise??? will they pull the same price as a 430minus a few $ or cut in half ????

What like a gf106, 104, or 108 should surely be faster than a gf100, or am I missing your humor...
